True. I don't understand a lot of mythology myself, but it does open up some interesting artistic possibilities - and we are kind of getting off-topic, technically.

Jake - just as Mighty pointed out, he's a fox. A mammal, unless there is some serious genetic anomaly going on, cannot have more than one tail (or unpaired limb or organ). And even if a lizard or other reptile ends up with two tails, it is again usually the result of a genetic anomaly or, perhaps, regrowth of a lost tail (from an attack by another animal) that went slightly wrong.

Even in that event, a lizard doesn't grow nine, ten or fourteen tails (or any such thing).

Not dismissing far eastern mythology. I pointed out simply that it confused me. It makes no sense to me.

Mighty --> I realize that; I was addressing the topic in general. Besides, Japanese mythology contains all kinds of strange stuff.

Nick is a fox, so this logic really can't be applied to him. If a fox were to loose its tail, it would be gone for life. And if a animal were born with a defect in the wild, that animal would either die from complications, be snatched by a predator, or be abandoned by its mother. In society, if the animal can be saved, will have surgery to correct the problem. If the problem is severe enough, it would be better off euthanized.

Animals most certainly can't be a mash up of other animal species either. XD

I'm not sure I understand your logic about the need for rabbit elements in Nick.

JC --> Not necessarily impossible; there are cases of lizards having two tails, and many animals (albeit deformed ones) have been born with multiple heads. How this came to be such a big thing in mythology (and not just Eastern, btw) is anyone's guess, but it's not totally without a counterpart in reality.

No offense intended here (honestly), but I have never ever understood the multiple tail thing that is so prevalent in eastern art and fandom...it confuses me. And, in the real world, would be physiologically impossible. Not to impugn this sketch though.

Have thought nine-tails Nick's idea,
But jackalopes are bunny,
If Nick is the prototype,
there will be no rabbit elements inside the. XD

Actually, the idea was for Nick to have nine tails - but I've got to say, you put some very interesting work into this, and in a short time at that. I'm impressed.
