Name: Jenya Shootz
Prefers: “Jetta”
Species: Red Panda
Age: Adult
Relationship Status: Single
Current Residence: Canopy Condos in the Rainforest District
Build: Smallish- about fox sized. Rather hour glass shaped. Short body fur with poofy cheeks and a fluffy tail.
Misc: Has longer fur on her forehead that curls between her ears. She has a slight curl at the tip of her tail. Also has white brows instead of black.
Personality: Jetta is an odd mix of headstrong yet flexible states of being. She has a strong sense of morality which led her to the ZPD from her brief commercial piloting career. She displays good leadership capabilities, thus she excels at what she does. In ZPD air support things often change within minutes, so she has learned to go with the flow and ask questions later. She can be stubborn and rather cagey about her private life, but there isn’t much to discuss. She lives to fly, even though it’s a little unconventional for her species. She’s the best pilot ZPD has, and though she is small- her bravery and valor command respect from the rest of the fleet. Give her anything, and she can probably have it up in the air and ready to go in under 10 minutes.
"Let's get up there, gang!"
Her Story: Jetta grew up watching planes fly by her parent’s bamboo carving business. She would often absentmindedly carve little planes out of the bamboo she was supposed turn into trinkets. Somewhere during her childhood she earned the nickname Jetta for her fascination with aircraft. Things got a little rocky for her when she finally revealed to her parents that she didn’t want to carry on the generations old legacy of tending to the bamboo shop for the rest of her life. She wanted to fly, which everyone initially thought was outrageous because flying did not come naturally to her species in any sense of the word.
After proving just how serious she was, her parents finally sent her away to the “Foxbat Academy”. Initially all her expectations for herself were crushed- and she struggled to keep up with the other students. Everything changed when she was partnered with a sugar glider with a terrible fear of heights. It was this friendship with her new roommate that taught her, it’s not only about the species- it’s about the passion. After the program was over, Jetta and her roommate then went into the commercial pilot track.
She hadn’t been working for the airlines long before a terrible accident nearly killed her and her co-pilot on a testing run. The accident was caused the airline’s attempt to cut costs - although they initially tried to blame Jetta; citing that because she was a red panda her natural flying capabilities were compromised. Jetta had her first experience with the ZPD when she tried to report the airline’s shading dealings with buying and selling parts- and illegal shipping trades. Eventually the company was brought to justice, but it did leave Jetta and her sugar glider pal without a job.
It wasn’t long before they realized ZPD air support badly needed some pilots and some restructuring. Jetta soon climbed the ranks into a leadership role as the fleet commander. She’s backed up Judy and Nick plenty of times, as well as the rest of the force.
