Regularly delivers hay to the Bunny Burrows. Good friends with Judy.
Personality:
Just as strong minded as she is physically strong, Joy is a very opinionated horse. A strong feminist, and a believer in equality for both predator and prey alike, and she isn't afraid to show it. While most of the time she's polite (if a bit rough around the edges), she still enjoys a good tussle every now and then- especially if it's someone deserving of it
History:
Both of Joy's parents were big in the fashion business, and were very stylish horses. They had hoped for their daughter to follow in their footsteps, but, Joy much preffered to get dirty and down i the mud. She'd often ruin the new expensive clothes her parents had bought for her, and she'd definetely get an earful for it each time.
As a child, it was just another dress for her to ruin, but as a teenager she started to see it as less of a game for her. Her parents were trying to force their dreams onto her, and live through her. Her feelings were a mess, and her relationship with her parents became strained. No matter how hard she tried, they were always on her tail about it. Even when she couldn't take it anymore, and she had tried many times to stop them, they stayed persistant. As soon as she was old enough, she left home.
After leaving, Joy never pursued a higher education. She never did well in school. Instead, she decided to put her strength to good use, and left home to take up a job doing heavy lifting on a hay farm. The farm was run by a Patagonian Mara, who needed some help doing the more physically demanding jobs. It was the perfect job for her: heavy, dirty work. Exactly what she was good at.
Joy regularly delivered to Bon and Stu at Bunny Burrows, and got to know their many children - particularly Judy. The two were great friends. Although she had her doubts like everyone else, she never let her in on it, and pushed her on to follow her dreams all the while. She knew Judy was capable of great things.
The small hay farm she ran began exporting to more and more places across the globe, and became oe of the biggest exporters of hay in Zootopia. With this increasing demand, they had to hire more workers, which inevitably meant there was less work for her to do. Though reluctant, she had enough money to retire, and settled down in the outskirts of Zootropolis, where she lived out the rest of her life peacefully.
Adopted from HappyStool (and then adapted to become a zootopia character)

| I will be haunted by my actions forever. Hoot hoot! |
mighty- yeah, i did think about that, but there are horses in zootopia
(just as there is domestic pigs and sheep) so i assumed it would be
alright. thank you though! ![]() |

Horses were domesticated by humans, so their existence (unless it was
a subspecies that existed without the aid of humans) in Zootopia
technically wouldn't exist. The only true wild and undomesticated
horse is the przewalski's horse. There was also the tarpan (which went
extinct in 1909), though I'm a bit confused about its origins. But if
it was a naturally occurring species of horse, I could see that as a
possibility. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tarpan https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Przewalski's_horse |
