History: He and his siblings were born in Nutley Copse. Their mother sometimes told them stories of El-ahrairah; Sycamore didn't believe them, but his brother Aspen did.

When Sycamore and his siblings were a few months old, a Wide Patrol happened upon them and took them and their parents to Efrafa. Their parents and scrawnier siblings were made prisoners, while Sycamore and Aspen, being the strongest of their siblings, were picked by General Woundwort and put into Owsla training. Sycamore rose through the ranks quicker than his dim-witted brother, meeting or exceeding Woundwort's expectations.

Some time later he found himself competing with Campion for the rank of Captain of Owsla, but Campion won out, which made Sycamore even more determined; he always tried to best Campion at everything. Eventually, when Campion was found to have betrayed Efrafa, Sycamore was promoted to Captain. Soon after, the power, influence, and prestige went to his head. And after that, he caught the eye of an Efrafan doe named Ivy.

Months later, Efrafa fell and the prisoners were liberated, thanks to the Watership Down rabbits (including Campion). Sycamore and Ivy got separated in the chaos, but he couldn't find her afterward, and assumed she was dead. In the following weeks, he found several surviving former Efrafan officers, tasking them (and Aspen) with finding more Efrafan survivors, as well as non-Efrafans who wished to join. Aspen happened upon Vervain one day, and attempted to befriend him. The two were suddenly attacked by a weasel, and Vervain fled, leaving Aspen to die. Since that day, Sycamore has hated Vervain,

A few weeks later, Sycamore started to hear rumors that Efrafa was back up and running under the power of a new leader, and he willingly joined. He and Ivy were soon re-united; Syc found her silflaying near the border, and after a moment of embrace, Sycamore took Ivy with him to Nahlvao.

Relation to WsD: Is Aspen's brother, hated Vervain; is an officer in Nahlvao, established in Efrafa's remains; he used to be an officer in Efrafa until it fell.
