History: He was born in a patch of trees outside Ecchinswell, less than a mile from Nuthanger Farm. At about half a year of age, Claymore and most of his siblings left the warren and separated from their parents, Clay's brother Hemlock tagging along with him.

Unaware of the dangers of life for a rabbit, they often ate from a farmer's vegetable garden, ususually without incident. Until one day...

Years later, Claymore and Hemlock were again eating in the farmer's garden, unaware that the farmer had finally caught them, and that he had his gun trained on them. He fired at the two rabbits, who took off running, but missed the first time. The farmer aimed again and fired. The bullet hit Hemlock in the back of the head, and he died a few minutes later, right in front of his brother Claymore. Clay said his heartfelt goodbyes to his now-deceased sibling, and continued on his way away from the farm.

He was still tharn when Gentian, chief rabbit of Lienahlay, found him during a routine patrol. Claymore was brought to Lienahlay, where Gentian took him in and helped him recover from his brother's loss.

But that was before Gentian's slow, spiraling descent into madness over being unable to obtain Thethuthinnang as his mate.
