“Man, cast yer peepers on that one, kiddo! It’s bigger ‘n Becky’s car!” You spit on your hands and grip the biggest diamond that you can reach in the diamond wall. It is lodged. It doesn’t budge an inch. Using all of your strength you yank backwards. Nothing. It is immovable. You grab the flashlight from the floor at Kit’s feet. Using the flashlight as a crowbar, you pry at the diamond’s edge. It doesn’t move. Frustrated, you lightly tap on the diamond with the flashlight. The diamond begins to move...and so does the entire wall! “Baloo, look out!” Kit yells, backing away towards the exiting tunnel. Leaving the sacks of diamonds behind, you and Kit scramble up the tunnel as fast as you can. The diamond wall crashes to the floor, causing the ceiling to cave in. The diamonds are buried under a pile of rocky rubble. You, not wanting to be buried alive, don’t stop running until you reach the outside. By that time the snowmobiles are gone and the lions are, too. You and Kit stand outside the mountain, panting from fright and exhaustion. “Which way is Point Blanc, navigator?” you ask sheepishly. Kit extracts his compass and map. He reads off the directions. You trek to the village, hoping that no one ever learns about your finding and losing the Lost City of Diamonds. The End
