I read Jymn's answer too... that's why I'm confused. Jymn said:

"If a character has thin legs (like Mickey or Goofy or Rebecca) then we put pants on 'em so they don't look naked. If, however, a character has big hips & no legs (Baloo) or a huge but (Donald), then we leave pants off. (It would look silly otherwise.)"

Kit has thin legs and yet no pants. (???) It just seems like they're ignoring their own guideline... Maybe they didn't give him pants because he would be appearing in many scenes with Baloo and they thought that the pants/no pants contrast might be distracting. *shrugs*

Regarding the pants, it was a design convention thing that Disney does. Jymn answered that question in the ask the creators part of the site. XD

Nice sketch, he does look a little older. To tell you the truth, when I was a kid, I wondered why he didn't wear pants... It always bothered me just a little bit so I'm glad you gave him shorts. Besides, it looks so strange when he reaches into the invisible pocket on his leg for loose change! That happened in at least two separate episodes. To this day i can't figure out why Disney didn't give him pants.

haha Kit wearing shorts good one! He sure looks a lil older in this one. Love the expression
