Welcome to the 3rd Animation Source Choice Awards! (the møøse crossed the road)
Each year, Animation Source hosts an awards show honoring the best in animation from the previous year. (a møøse bitte my sister once) This year, we will honor the best in animation from 2013, a wonderful year that included films such as Frozen, Despicable Me 2, and many others! (no, really. my sister was painting her knails and the møøse came up and bitte her hande) The way the ASCAs work is this: you, the members of Animation Source, look at the list [...]

1 commentAfter much consideration, and encouragement from other members, I have decided to revive the Animation Source Choice Awards once more and see how it goes.

Not to be confused with the Animation Source Awards, which honor members of Animation Source and has been discontinued permanently, the ASCAs honor the best in animation from the previous year. The first year Animation Source hosted the awards, 157 people voted, and the winner of Best Picture was Rio. Last year, however, less than 20 people voted altogether, and I decided to cancel the awards. However, enough people have expressed [...]

2 commentsAccording to BoxOfficeMojo's release schedule, Pixar films The Good Dinosaur and Finding Dory have had their release dates pushed back.

The Good Dinosaur, set to be Pixar's next major release, was due out next June, but now it has been pushed back to November 25, 2015. There may be several reasons for this, but the largest one might be the fact that Jurassic World (aka Jurassic Park 4) is being released during Summer 2015, and perhaps Pixar wants to release a dinosaur film immediately after, while audiences are still on a dinosaur high. Another reason might be because the film simply [...]

7 commentsWe have some new insights on Don Rosa (the famous Duck comic book artist) involvement with TaleSpin.
Here's a modelsheet he did for the episode "I Only Have Ice For You" : (click to enlarge)
Also, a quote from the Don Rosa Collection book set :
"'TaleSpin' was an interesting show -- it was based on old adventure movies of the 1930’s which was certainly one of my interests! I soon was getting enthusiastic about giving it my best shot. I even did storyboards for my own scripts for free, trying to make myself valuable. A screenwriter who can also do his own storyboards was just [...]

3 commentsIt was long overdue, but a few things are going to change on Animation Source soon.

As you may or may not know, the french side of the site has been running quite smoothly over the past years, but the same can't be said for the english side.
Which is why, the french moderators suggested to help and improve the english side, and they've recently dedicated a lot of time into it!
And here's their first task : "changing" the site rules! Actually changing is a big word, it's more : giving precise details and filling the blanks, the areas which were a blur for everyone.
You'll find the [...]

104 commentsDisclaimer: I have received permission from a moderator to post this notice.
As of late there has been a lot of issues with users putting blacklists in their profiles and galleries. There is no reason for anyone to be creating these blacklists, all they do is cause problems. And actually, they're against the rules. So if you have one of these in your profile or gallery, then it would be advised that you removed it from your profile ASAP. Otherwise the mods will send you a warning, and if necessary, a ban.
Thank You

The film releases next year. Let's hope we get another trailer or four between now and then.

After 6 years of waiting, Disney finally decided to release the last DVD set of TaleSpin in the USA!!! And it's AVAILABLE NOW!
It might not be easy to get it, though : this is a Disney Movie Club exclusive, meaning that you must be a member to see it listed.
If you live outside of USA, you're out of luck (registration isn't possible), and you'll have to check out Amazon.com regularly because they sometimes put some of these on their site.
If you live in the USA : you might be interested to join the club, especially if you buy lots of Disney DVDs, because the offer is [...]

There was a forum topic on this, but it wasn't getting much attention, so here's a news.
Sourcecast has an interview lined up for voice actor Robbie Rist. Most of you might know him as the voice of Star in "Balto", but he also has a lot of other credits, including Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Naruto, and Doc McStuffins.
You are free to ask Mr. Rist any question you wish, and as many as you want; we really want this to be worth his time. The interview has not yet been scheduled yet (but IT WILL HAPPEN), so get to commenting with your questions!

It has been too long since a new Sourcecast episode has been released - almost a full year, actually. But never fear, for a new Sourcecast episode is on the horizon! And now it's YOUR chance to decide what comes next!
The typical Sourcecast format includes news on current and upcoming animated films, news regarding Animation Source, maybe an interview with an AS member, a Plugged-in Review of older films, a review of someone's fan works on the sites, and reading the mailbag. In this next episode, I'll be doing an episode [...]

First of all, MY LITTLE PONY: FRIENDSHIP IS MAGIC is getting a theatrical film, which will open up the Los Angeles Film Festival in June and receive a limited theatrical engagement beginning on the 15th. 12 commentsOn April 18, 1983, 30 years ago today, The Disney Channel began broadcasting all over the world. In the last 30 years, it has aired numerous Disney movies, television series, and everything in-between. If you were born anytime after that date, chances are you watched Disney Channel a LOT growing up. It's awesome to see such a milestone from the company, considering their original reliance on ABC to broadcast their content. (They now own ABC. Coincidence?)
Below is a compliation of original promotions for The Disney Channel. It sure has changed a lot in the last 30 years, hasn't [...]

6 commentsEvery year since 2007, the Animation Source Awards have taken place to honor members of Animation Source. However, the popularity the awards once had is definitely not quite there anymore; last year, only 10 people total voted in the final tally, and most of those went to one category instead of the potential dozens offered. Due to this, there is consideration to cancel the awards show this year.
^ Animation Source Awards banner from 2011, where Conay hosted^
Another reason for this consideration is the fact that, despite the best intentions, the awards have ended up almost [...]

11 commentsYou know, I still haven't posted every piece of official stuff I own. For example, here is an interesting paper for a recording session of an episode, which lists the actors and the time of record :

I've always thought that all the main characters had to be there at the same time at the moment of the recording, but it seems not! For "Grual & Unusual Punishment", R.J. Williams (Kit) and Sally Struthers (Rebecca) both did their recording at a different time than the others! Fortunately, this wasn't noticeable at all in the final episode.
I find this interesting, anyway [...]

8 commentsYes, folks, Pixar's rolling out another sequel. This time to 2003's Finding Nemo. The sequel? Finding Dory.

Not much is known about this sequel, except that portions will take part around the beaches of California. Most of the cast from the first film will be returning except for Alexander Gould, whose voice of Nemo is too adult-like now to allow him to reprise.
This will be the sixth Pixar sequel, after Toy Story 2 and 3, Cars 2, Monsters University (coming out this summer), and Planes (a Cars spin-off, coming to theaters this Thanksgiving). Finding Dory is currently looking [...]

17 commentsYesturday, there was a totally unexpected news that shocked all the video game industry...
After nearly 25 years, the Ducktales NES video game is getting a remake!!! Coming this summer, on Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii U!
Take a look at any of the news sites comments, to be honest I've never seen gamers being so unanimely positive about a game announcement! Uncle $crooge will make millions again!!!
Now let's hope all this positive buzz will be noticed by Disney and will bring new opportunites for the Disney Afternoon shows overall! Maybe we could see them re-aired? [...]

8 commentsIt's been YEARS since Disney has pushed out new short films, particularly ones starring Mickey, Donald, Goofy, Pluto - you know, the old gang. This was practically ALL Disney made back in the 50s and 60s, but very few have come out since. In fact, the last short they produced was "How to Hook Up Your Home Theater", which saw its premiere in 2007 - 6 years ago.

But now Disney's decided to go ahead and produce a total of 19 new Mickey Mouse short films. In fact, the very first one is already available to view! (Embedding is not allowed with this video, so click the image above to [...]

114 commentsHappy New Year, everyone! We've made it through a year of apocolypses, zombies, and gigantic mailboxes, and now it's time to usher in 2013. What better way to kick off a new year on Animation Source, than with the 2nd Annual Animation Source Choice Awards!

Last year's ASCAs were a huge success. Over 150 people voted in the event! The largest winner was Rio, which took home 11 awards, including Best Picture. This year, we have quite the list of nominees eligible for each award; over 20 animated films were released in 2012!
This year, we're doing thing a little different. [...]
