If it's not too much of a bother I'm asking a few questions for people from the Chip 'n Dale Online messageboard on the show Rescue Rangers.

pupspals:

what, if anything, can you tell us about the early - pre Chip & Dale - characters? Kit Colby, the chameleon, chirp sing, eagle eye, etc? did Monty & Gadget differ in those versions?

Modern Times:

What (if anything) can you tell us about the proposed Rescue Ranger movie that was shelved?

Was To The Rescue ever released on VHS? If so, does it contain scenes that were cut from the TV airing?

Which episode is your personal favorite?

Goa:

What was your favorite show to work on?

Were there ever any plans of bringing Clarice the chipmunk lounge singer from Two Chips and a Miss back for an appearance in Rescue Rangers?

I hope you can answer them. It's not often Rescue Ranger fans get to ask something from the show's crew or their affiliates.

pupspals: what, if anything, can you tell us about the early - pre Chip & Dale - characters? Kit Colby, the chameleon, chirp sing, eagle eye, etc? did Monty & Gadget differ in those versions? /// Gadget and Monty were always the same characters (tho' I think Monty may have had a different name early on). Kit Colby and Colt Cheddarson were basically Crockett & Tubbs (correct?) from Miami Vice. That's what we fashioned them after. Y'know - a buddy film. When Chip & Dale stepped into those roles, they brought their own character dynamics from their countless theatrical shorts - so that changed the complexion of the lead characters a bit. I loved the name Chirp Sing... he was sorta Chiun from the Destroyer books. The eagle (I think he had a diff name) was a sky-high lookout. Could see a mile away... but couldn't see anything up close. Totally farsighted. The chamelon gal was a hoot.... she was always trying to blend into her background (master of disguise!) but plaid gave her a headache. In some respects, she was the forerunner of Gadget. But Gadget was mainly based on Michelle Meyrink's character in "Real Genius." If you haven't see the film, rent it instantly. You'll see what I mean.

Which episode is your personal favorite? // I only actively worked on the pilot mini-series. Rescue Rangers was always Tad Stones' baby.
