First off, thank you for taking the time to answer questions from us fans. :)
One of the many things I love about Tale Spin are those great "moments" in the show that you could look back to and think "Hey, that was just awesome!" Bits of dialog, or even entire scenes that set the mood well, or musical cues, etc. With that said, what were some of your favorite "moments"? Also, what did you enjoy most about working on Tale Spin?

Golly, it's been years since I've watched an episode. (That would be fun to do - sit down with a buncha fans and watch episodes together & reminisce.) (Come to think of it... isn't that what "commentaries" on DVD's are for? Why doesn't Disney do that??.... Oh, wait, now I remember why. They're Disney.)
Anyway, I remember coming up with some schtick for Wildcat in the pilot. Becky says, "What do we need this lamebrain for?" So Baloo smashes the telephone to bits, hands it to Wildcat, and says something like, "I can't get a dial tone." Withing 5 seconds, Wildcat has rebuilt the broken phone. Baloo gives an "I rest my case" look to Becky. That has always tickled me.
I'm sure there's a thousand other moments, but I can't think of any this second.
What did I enjoy most?.... Seeing my ideas wind up as realities. To have an entire crew embrace the fun of the Tale Spin concept, then run off and do something even better. That's very rewarding.

Rifftrax does joke commentaries on current movies. Why not do
something similar with not just Talespin episodes but all the series
you've worked on? Maybe even a podcast recorded will you watch a show?
I seriously doubt Disney will even think or consider such a thing
ever. |

I haven't watched in years but I believe Baloo says something like,
"Wildcat, I think there's something wrong with this phone." |

Yes, it's very disappointing to see Disney not making any efforts for
their series...Especially when it wouldn't cost them anything to ask
you and the other people from the staff who worked on it, and include
that on the DVDs! But, I guess they just think "they're for children, and children don't care". Well actually I'm sure that most of the sales of the Disney Afternoon series come from adults. (nowadays kids don't know these series anyway) And I believe that you should really watch it again Jymn, I'm sure you'll be surprised and realize how good it is ![]() |
