So Jymn, were there any ideas that didn't work for TaleSpin? Like either characters or stories?

The Koonce & Weimers script was a 2-parter. (We once created a
character called Dr. Kooncenweimers.) Anyway, the original title was
Musical Thrones, but then got changed to "A King, A Coup and Baloo."
Ken and David came up with story and wrote the outline, but part 1 of
the two-parter was written by Dev Ross and Jeremy Cushner. It appears
from a memo (dated Dec 19, 1989) that there was a time crunch, and Ken
and Dave passed on the two-parter.... and then it just fizzled away, I
guess. The plot centers on the fact that Baloo and King Bernard of
Bearnasia are identical... and hilarity ensues. |

There are always tons of ideas that come and go during a production
schedule. Most ideas are weeded out at the premise stage, but some
make it to outline or even script before they are scrapped (for
whatever reason). Oddly enough, I just found a couple of "lost
scripts" the other day. They were written by Ken Koonce and David
Weimers. Funny stuff, but got dumped for some reason. When I dig the
file up again, I'll give you all the details. |
