It was long overdue, but a few things are going to change on Animation Source soon.

As you may or may not know, the french side of the site has been running quite smoothly over the past years, but the same can't be said for the english side.
Which is why, the french moderators suggested to help and improve the english side, and they've recently dedicated a lot of time into it!
And here's their first task : "changing" the site rules! Actually changing is a big word, it's more : giving precise details and filling the blanks, the areas which were a blur for everyone.
You'll find the new rules directly in each section (fanarts, fan images etc...)
Also a few tweaks to the general rules, which you'll find here : https://www.animationsource.org/board/post14621.html
This is only a first step. I'd like to ask to let them do their job, and even if you don't agree with something, be aware that this is for the good of the site and for its success in the long term.
Stay tuned!

I happen to agree with the person who was wrongly banned simply for stating an opinion, and making observations, which didn't sit well with one particular moderator and one or two members, and which also drew some cheap flame baiting at her. She was crudely manhandled...and it's hardly the first time that particular moderator has manhandled quite a few members (at different times). And yet, that individual has somehow, inexplicably, held onto his position and avoided responsibility for HIGHLY-questionable decisions.
THIS needs to be addressed. I know how that member feels...I've felt the same beat down occasionally, and I know some others have. And it disgusts me.

For the record I wasn't trying to be cute. I'm so use to calling wolves, wuffs. But yes, it's good to know the images will change eventually. They are helpful despite the distractions they cause.
1. This is why the members can only send 1 image with adoption for 10 images. Then they image section will not be flooded by adoption
2. This is not about the lineart you want to color for making a drawing ^-^ It's if you create a free lineart for the other, you can't use it on the fanart section to color it over and over
I go away somewhere and things are modified for the better- maybe I should stay in France XD

This is exactly what this site needed!
1. I don't like the idea of putting adoptables in image section. The adoptables can't appear in this site at all, for me. It's the cruelty for the creators of original characters, who are flooded by adoptables, which aren't creative and there are the possible source of sparkle creatures. I may buy some of them in the end, but I won't create it by myself! And I won't post bought ones in this site!
2. The idea of not colouring my own lineart is little confusing. I understand not colouring the linearts from the other artists, 'cause I can be in the trouble with its' original creator. But not colouring my own lineart even once? I don't understand. Can someone explain it, please?

@ OraKi -- thank you very much!
@ Kash -- and what, precisely, is a "wuff"?

In the other hand, as JerseyCapitain said, the phrase "these rules aren't exhaustive" can be kinda dangerous, 'cause one person can treat it as the reason for the abusing other users. I agree completely with him.
Plus, if I'm not mistaken, this was one of Steet original rules.
As it's says on the new, we don't really add new rules, we've just explain the old ones and solve problems that we've seen on both side.

All rules should be in type for everyone to see. Anytime you have a "these rules aren't exhaustive", it is a breeding ground for selective moderating by staff, and not always in a good way. I'm not talking about me specifically being on the receiving end. But if there is no recourse, or a way for a member to address a senior authority on this (i.e., YOU), then "these rules aren't exhaustive" is just a recipe for abuse, in my opinion.
BIG staff changes are sorely needed. Several of us are holding out much hope that there will be some judicious and wise resolution on that issue. Soon.

Thank you Hecate, Nakou and Victor for translating the rules.
