It was long overdue, but a few things are going to change on Animation Source soon.

As you may or may not know, the french side of the site has been running quite smoothly over the past years, but the same can't be said for the english side.
Which is why, the french moderators suggested to help and improve the english side, and they've recently dedicated a lot of time into it!
And here's their first task : "changing" the site rules! Actually changing is a big word, it's more : giving precise details and filling the blanks, the areas which were a blur for everyone.
You'll find the new rules directly in each section (fanarts, fan images etc...)
Also a few tweaks to the general rules, which you'll find here : https://www.animationsource.org/board/post14621.html
This is only a first step. I'd like to ask to let them do their job, and even if you don't agree with something, be aware that this is for the good of the site and for its success in the long term.
Stay tuned!

And I'm not "afraid" of anyone's precious "opinion". I just don't want 5 darn pages of arguments caused by it. *I* requested a moderator to remove all comments regarding this drama because I was anry at both you and "my friends" who were replying and keeping this going. What they did is not my fault.
There's no reason to call me "immature" just because I cleared out the fact that there is no "mysterious comments deletion" and that I don't want stupid dramas on MY images, regardless if you like them or not. That was rude. Especially that I did not join in any of there arguments on the image myself and I did not ask anyone to do it.
If you want to discuss it - make a forum topic. I don't want any argues on my creations and I have right to ask mods to delete them off.
I do not want to contribute to this drama, but keep insulting me for this and it's not me who will have problems.

I know you're not the only one, JC, you're just the biggest one
But indeed we're talking too much about personal things, the subject was about rules, so let's end it here and continue by PM if you want to.
pala
Similarly, steet doesn't respond to a LOT of people's PMs from the English side. Several people have made that fact very well known. Steet always claims he's just too busy with outside things, and that he just gets too many. He actually HAS responded to my e-mails. Which just goes to show how much you really are aware of the situation.
In either case, he's the webmaster. Tons of sensible suggestions have been provided to him (including by ME in a lengthy post in the forum) to help resolve these issues. But he needs to actually take a little time and focus on them, and stop making excuses for why things have been stuck in limbo for years. I'm HARDLY the only one who's been complaining, and who's been bitter, about the status quo around here. Take a look around sometime.
I'm kind of aware - it's not because I've never reacted 'til that day that I don't know anything about what's going on on your side. That isn't suffisant enough to break a rule, isn't it?
Anyway, I'm maybe not able to understand the dynamic and all those kind of stuff that happened, but I'm able to understand that need to stop for "Animation Source sake". UK can explain me her point of view if she wants to, that won't change all the things I've seen from myself and what the whole staff decided to do. AS really needs to be a peaceful place open to everyone, not a constant war.
pala
As to your first statement in your response, it's not as simple as all that. Unless you are aware of all the facts, you shouldn't presume to understand what's going on.
I think you haven't had enough exposure to the English mirror to truly comprehend the dynamics, and the depth of the constant flame baiting, bullying, teasing, shifting allegiances, trolling and so on. And you really need someone (perhaps someone who is not particularly tied to what you may view as particularly friendly either to me and my friends, OR certainly to "them", to get a clearer picture. I would suggest UKthewhitewolf. She could enlighten you on this. You really ought to talk to her.

The Batman -- respect, and lack thereof, is a two-way street, thank you very much. And it definitely goes both ways. It's funny how presenting the question of "respect" is suitable when it serves a particular end or individual, but how terribly inconvenient and "rude" it is whenever it serves another, much different end or individual.
Batman
Hell, a lot of members here don't like gay pairings, but a lot of them put aside their personal beliefs to comment on the actual images and the creator's skills. They didn't like the pairing, but they were respectful enough not to bash it or spam the page up with comments.
It's sad that respect is an issue, since young kids can successfully display respect in schools, and many members here are very polite. People don't want to make images or fanworks for this site anymore, why would they? If they feel they will be bashed and constantly complained at then they won't participate on the site, which is a shame because a lot of members have creative works to share.
For your reply... Well, why others comments would be disguised more than yours? That's paranoïa, here. I don't see why you would be a victim more than other people... Just stop talking about "white knights and bullies" please, first because it's someone's name on the site x) and second because that's just agressive terms which will cause drama again and don't make you credible at the end.
"(...) a certain moderator selected one side, instead of remaining absolutely neutral (as a moderator is SUPPOSED to do)" A mod is supposed to be fair, not especially neutral. If he judges someone is wrong, he has to say what he thinks and calm down things. As what I know, there are no abuse - you're still here, even if he thought you were wrong (and he's not the only one - many reports have been done).
You should maybe considered that Animation Source is a site open to everyone - people truly different, sensitive, agressive, etc. You need to respect them, not impose yourself to. You would be greatly more appreciated.
Skul' -> The proposition seems interesting anyway, that's an idea we could talk with Steet, even if I would prefer no more agressive comments at all.

And as far as I'm concerned, the mods are dealing with most of these situations reasonably, rationally, and unbiasedly. The few times it's not been that way, they at least had good intentions, which is something. I mean, if we can't trust them to do their job, what are they there for?

And as to some cry over a "lost battle"? Not likely. If anyone's curious:
Actually, the comments I (and also Mightybalto1925) posted were sensible, logical and were not applicable for deletion, except in as much as the person who created the "image", and her couple of closest friends, couldn't handle contrary opinions on the matter, and initiated a brief flame war in which a certain moderator selected one side, instead of remaining absolutely neutral (as a moderator is SUPPOSED to do) and not only commented against the two of us, but then specifically selected my comments for deletion...apparently at the request of the "image" creator who couldn't handle the contrary viewpoints. Still a highly immature act on on the part of the "image" creator, and an irresponsible one as far as the moderator is concerned, as there were no flame baits whatsoever (at least from Mighty and I). And I have at least a screen shot of one of my comments to back that up. The others were deleted before I could take screen shots. End of story. Bye.

"were secretly and needlessly deleted to cover up what I had said"
I said I asked a mod to delete them. I was tired of him making such big fuss and drama over my images.
Now there's a big cry over a "lost battle"
I posted this to blow out this big assumptions that "comments are being mysteriousy deleted". No. They are being reported and/or deleted on a request of content's author who, after all, have a right to do it.
End of story. Bye.
If someone prefers Dusty x Kirby instead of Dusty x Ralph, what's the problem? It's their imaginations, their rights, if they have a great reason to imagine, why not? As what I've seen from you, when it's not what YOU want, it shouldn't be allowed. And that reduce possibilities of the fandom which aren't so bad for others. If you don't like, that's your point of view and we respect it, but you should also respect the fact that others members are allowed to like what THEY want.
It's not a story of not sharing his opinion, just to not curb members. Like / dislike is a story of taste you can't discussed without drama, 'cause "I don't like" isn't a point of view which will help the member and you'll NEVER agree. Everyone has his point of view about fandom, if you don't share the same, then, look only what you like. Giving an opinion on art is not saying "you're in the wrong way, this can't be possible!"... The fandom is wide, don't make it so little that everyone will be afraid to post what they like.

Certain things ought to be protected. NOT from a religious or from a prejudicial point of view, but to protect the sanctity of certain things as they are...outside of political or religious considerations. No matter how many people are going to foolishly (and mistakenly) peg my argument as religious or trolling, it is neither. It is about being a purist fan who also believes that the site CANNOT have a double standard for whenever it happens to suit some teen or young adult fan who wants to experiment. Either TO generate a visceral reaction, or because they happen to believe it's their right.
Many purist fans (and certainly practically ALL child fans) care deeply about these canon characters as they were presented on screen. They are GOING to react viscerally when someone toys with them, and then posts it online for all to see. Once posted online, it's subject to debate, opinion and contradiction. And certain mods censoring and deleting comments just to try and gag members who want to speak about such things is beneath contempt. If it's posted online, it's open for comment. Period.
It's contradictory, and it's WRONG. And it's a terrible shame.
pala
Blaze - how unfortunate then. Because, as I said on one such "image", before my comment (and replies to others) were secretly and needlessly deleted to cover up what I had said, which furthers my complaints about why this site needs a major staffing overhaul (because censorship of that kind is inexcusable. If a person is not flame baiting or trolling, then just because someone doesn't like what they said is no justification for deleting what they said): if the webmaster is going to keep his "family-friendly" and *ahem* KID-FRIENDLY moniker for this site, then shipping canon characters into alternative sexualities, out of some desire to play a "what-if", utterly contradicts "family-friendly" and "kid-friendly". WHATEVER alternative sexualities we're talking about...politically-correct or no.
These things may make sense to teenagers and adults, but WON'T to kids who may love the characters, and have come here with an innocent desire to explore a site devoted to something they love. Regardless of how it might offend those of you who believe that fan shipping ought to have very few, if ANY, limitations, purist fans ARE going to potentially be shocked and offended by such handlings of their characters. And as I have also said elsewhere, that "if you don't like it, don't look at it" is total balderdash. The very moment they stumble upon it, they've "looked at it", and are committed to some gut reaction. It's human nature. (continued...)

-13. A fan site. - You are on a fan site, this means that members imagine a lot of things around the movies. They speculate on what would happen before the movies or after and everyone has the right to have his own version. If you don't like something that a member imagine, this is your right but the member can have his/her version, then don't bother him on the subject. In the same way, if a member like to make pairring ( heterosexual or homosexual ) it's is right too and you don't have anything to say. If you don't like something, just ignore and don't create useless drama or argue.
Also, thanks for pointing that out Hécate. I've already found, fixed it and resent. But still, when it comes to images you upload, it'd be nice to point out why it's removed. I had an image removed once because they thought it was in the wrong submission pile. I may have my images gallery open now, but I try not to rely on bases because they're not my thing. An image can be original and still be drawn from MSPaint or 'sketcher' or what ever.
