We've recently started a petition for getting TaleSpin comics released!
Click on this link to sign it!
With the recent success of the Darkwing Duck, Rescue Rangers and Ducktales comics, TaleSpin deserved to have a monthly comics series as well - but it unfortunately won't happen at Boom Studios (the current publisher who had the rights), as they officially declined to be able to get the licence from Disney, even though they were interested.
But now, the rights are moving back to Disney/Marvel, and this becomes a possibility again!
With a little "push", it may be enough to finally get new TaleSpin adventures, after 20 years of waiting!
I usually don't publish this kind of news outside of TaleSpin Source, but it would really be great if the "Animation Sourcers" could help me by signing this!

On a related note, with the recent releases of "All Dogs Go To Heaven" and "Anastasia" on Bluray, I thought it could be a good thing to re-send the "Special Edition Balto DVD" petition? (and maybe rename it to "Balto Bluray" now?) It's been a year and a half, and we didn't get any answer for that one.
What do you think?

I think you're getting a little ahead of yourself, when did Disney/Marvel even announce that they were releasing classic titles? Even when/if Disney/Marvel takes the license back there's no guarantee that they're going to continue the comics Classics or DA...Beside Disney has a horrible reputation when it comes to publishing comics in house, so even if they did they might not last long.
I really don't mean to be a killjoy, I really don't, but online petitions are pretty pointless. No one wants to sign their real name online (for good reason) and how can you be sure the same people aren't posting over and over again? I think it would be a lot more productive if you encourage people to write letters to Disney/Marvel, various comic publishers etc.
>>Finally, there's also the hope of seeing a book mixing the Disney Afternoon titles
I very seriously doubt it. Pixar is hugely popular and releases a film each year so there tons of money to be had in a magazine of Pixar titles. The Pixar titles likely didn't sell well under Boom, because Boom just didn't have the money to advertise, which marvel clearly does hence the move.
You really cannot say the same of DA which I don't even think are in syndication anymore. There an interest all right, but not enough to sell hundreds of thousands of copies. Children's comics sell better if it ties in when current media (movie, TV, etc)
TopCat => I don't really understand your reaction, but I'm not going to sit there and do nothing! The current Disney Afternoon titles are doing pretty well in terms of sales (even Rescue Rangers, who actually is selling MORE than the Toy Story book did when Toy Story 3 was released!) so there's definitely money to make.
Also, the DA titles are selling much more than the "classics" titles, so why would Disney/Marvel release "classics" titles and not Disney Afternoon titles? THIS doesn't make sense business-wise.
Finally, there's also the hope of seeing a book mixing the Disney Afternoon titles, and TaleSpin could definitely be included. And I believe a TaleSpin book monthly would do just fine, perhaps it doesn't have as many "hardcore" fans as Rescue Rangers (and even that, I'm not convinced) but I've seen so many people on the web saying it was/is their favorites. And that petition will prove it. (The TS DVDs always outsell Darkwing and CDRR on Amazon. And if the first DVD volume didn't sell well, they wouldn't have released a second one!)
Crumb => I'd like that too, but that has less chance of happening. Besides I would really want new stories and continuity like they've given the other series!

Your desperation is starting to (censored) me off tbh. You've been bragging about that for a long time. You've been complaining and complaining, and bragging to a point where you've become incredibly annoying. Disney did that for a reason, don't you think ?!? Too much licensing involved, etc. I love TS too, i like it a lot, but I've already accepted that we're not gonna get a monthly TS comic book.
End of story!
P.S - The only thing we can hope for is the rest of the TS DVD's.
Peace out
No offense but I just can't see Disney/Marvel picking up The DA titles or Talespin. Now Pixar and Muppets both have brand new movies on the horizon and appeal to children. Disney Afternoon series have no new shows or movies, and appeal primarily to adults with nostalgia. This makes them great for small companies like Boom! but no so much for a huge company like Marvel. I personally hope Boom can renew the licenses next June, but I'm not holding my breath.
