That's quite some funny pictures, something I'm surprised nobody did before! Pretty well done, uh??

But actually, there's another thing that makes it very interesting!

This comes from an artist Braden D.Lamb, who makes illustrations for comics. Obviously, these are very professional looking covers!

He says that it was "Originally a commission from my editor", and when we click on the link he provides, we're redirected to a page owned by a...Boom! Studios editor!!!

What does this mean, then? That at some point, Boom! Studios DID have concrete plans for TaleSpin comics, but weren't able to do it because of licence issues. (which made me furious at the time - I do think there was more to it than "just" licence issues, now...)

A single glance at the pictures gives another proof of that : these are the size of two covers, and we remember very well how much Boom! Studios liked doing multiple covers of the same issues (A, B, C...)

I admit, I'm very surprised about this...I would have thought any company would secure the rights to a licence before doing actual work like this. I thought they might have had plans, but I honestly didn't think they went as far as to make comic covers!  I have to wonder if there are some more like these out there, somewhere, hidden in some artists drawers?....

So we were THIS close to get new TaleSpin stories...We can only hope this opportunity will come again.
