Basic Information

Lapis is a very damaged and traumatised character. to begin with, very bitter and very cold towards the crystal gems, as she was imprisoned in a mirror for thousands of years and was not released (despite the fact the crystal gems knew she was in there). She only really felt she could trust Steven, after she helped free him. After being freed and returning to homeworld, she was once again imprisoned - this time fused as Malachite at the bottom of the ocean. Once freed again (this time by the Crystal Gems), Lapis decided to stay on earth and live in the barn with Peridot.

Although they got off to a bumpy start, Peridot and Lapis very much enjoy each others company. Lapis still has difficulty dealing with her past traumas, and still remains a little bit of a deadpan attitude, but her bitterness has faded with time as she spends more time with Peridot and Steven.
