The Silver brumby Characters part 3
More characters from The Silver Brumby books. Most of the characters in this picture are from the 3rd book; Silver Brumbies of the South
I'm a bit of a fan of the Silver brumby books, so I wanted to make some pictures of the characters in Spirit style. Of course, the author used very poetic language to describe the horse's coat colours, and very few face or leg markings are described, so some of this is artistic liscence; i.e. I've used my imagination.
Lightning - (Thowra x Golden). Kunama's younger brother. Takes more after his mother, and has never learnt from his father the ways of the Bush.
Baringa - Name meaning: Light - (Tambo x Kunama) Tambo and Kunama's son. Takes heavily after his grandfather, Thowra.
Whiteface - (?x ?) A (presumably) blue roan stallion that Thowra runs into and beats when he takes Lightning and Baringa south to find their own land. Whiteface is somewhat of a coward.
Cloud - (? x ?). A wise older stallion from the South who befriends Thowra and his son and grandson.
Goonda - Name Meaning: Fire - (Whiteface x ?). A red roan filly that catches Lightning's eye from the moment he sees her. Becomes his favourite mare.
Dawn - (Cloud x ?) The beautiful white filly who chooses to follow Baringa. Lightning desperately wants her, but she only has eyes for Baringa.
Moon - (Cloud x?) Dawn's sister. Almost identical to her. Originally called The Hidden One, Baringa named her Moon after he took her from The Ugly One, Much shyer than her sister.
Mist - (? x ?) A kindly mare who sticks close to Cloud. She looks almost identical to him.
Cirrus - Name meaning: cloud - (? x ?) Cloud's full sister, Thowra wins her from a grey stallion.
Son of Storm - (Storm x ?) Storm's first born son. He's a lot like his father.
I hope to make more pictures of other characters in the books. I'd also love to know the meanings to all the aboriginal names of the characters. Obviously, the ones I've listed I already know, but the ones I haven't listed I can't find meanings for. If you know what they are, I'd love to hear them ^^
