Naughty Sully... REQUEST
LONG overdue request from Hallo. She wanted a render of Solomon and Creme, and so this was born. I usually try to finish requests within a few days, but this one took a bit longer because I had camping and other stuff to do first.
This image was a bigger challenge than I predicted at first, because I couldn't decided which mount would be being ridden, but I knew that one of them had to be. It was only after I decided this could I work on wrestling together some poses. The original scheme was the two horses in a corral together, but I'm against that because I know that at the stables I rode at the would NEVER happen, so I couldn't imagine that the Calvary would do such a thing. So then, how could I get away with this? I then decided that I liked the image of the stally somewhat ignoring the humans, in order to flirt with the lovely mare, thus the muzzle and tight rope. I also liked that the mare would be the one being ridden, since I liked the thought of her being distracted by the stally, and I didn't like the idea of both horses being pulled around by bridles.
All in all, I believe that the poses in this image are the best they could be.
No, the anatomy part. The stally was a direct render from a screenshot, I didn't have to change a single thing, which I don't get often. The mare, however, she had 4 different options. I could have a body that was basically the same angle, this head, and then another head that was looking over the shoulder, like in my "Fivesome" render. I also had the pictured body, and I decided that I liked the moving part of it better, if only slightly, because that could add to the intensity of the distraction. I also liked her head being pulled back, like she was trying to move and check out this stally at the same time, and I think I captured that. The problem I had though, was that her neck had to be COMPLETELY redone, and for the life of me I couldn't find a model of this in my screenshots. So I messed with that for awhile. Once I got it right(or at least as close as it was gonna get) I compared the horses back to back and the mare suddenly looked like some kind of alien; her head was WAY to small, since I had to borrow it from another body. So, even after I rendered it, I had to resize it, and render it again.
Lastly, the human. Blue saw him and went "He's so tiny!", which I immediately argued. I sized the pare of them up against SEVERAL different screenshots, and his size is correct. Also, if you take into account the proportions due to the angle of the horse, as well as how big Rain is next to Little Creek, you'll agree with me, I'm sure, that his size is acceptable. Not perfect, but acceptable. I also had to do a little cheating with the bridle, and decided to ignore the band crossing the forehead. On a more humorous note, the human started out as an Lakota rider, so I made him one big white render. My mom saw this and went "Why is there a naked guy riding your horse?!?". LOL
Sully's colors were also a challenge. I already had some practice with the neck/shoulder/head markings with the "Fivesome" image, but this was my first full body, and I fear that his spots are pitiful. His legs were a challenge of a differnet color, since they fade from white to black rather abruptly("fade" being the keyword there) and Paint would NOT help me out. So I was forced to improvise. Thankfully, Paint did agree to let me use the eraser tool to quickly and easily let me change his lines to the right colors, so that saved me a LOT of time.

Awesome Render Aniu!! If you wanted to, you could have made the
stallion in tack, and the mare watching him. Then the stallion could
puff up his chest and look important XD But I like the way this is too
 well done!  |
