Out of the Mists
In Pegasus' bio, it says he watched over Spirit when the stallion was captured, and once appeared to him. I imagined Pegasus merging out of the mist in front of Spirit, like a ghost or a dream, and vanishing just as gradually, leaving the dunskin wondering if what he saw was even real.
I'm sorry for the poor rendering quality; I'm not very used to rendering yet, and this is the first time I've constructed a picture myself using my own renders, rather than using free lineart. I normally prefer thicker lines, but disneyscreencaps.com, where I get my screenshots from, seems to be using smaller screenshots now, so it's not as practical.
I made the mist effect myself, using the airbrush and Guassian Blur effect on GIMP. They're not very visible, but I thought it might be a nice touch to wrap some mist around Pegasus in the shape of wings ^^; No, he's not a sparkle horse; that's just the mist rising around his body.
Now for a fun fact: Pegasus was actually the reason I joined Spirit Source. I was googling 'Bloody Shoulder Markings' and his picture came up. I was so impressed with his render, and the unique idea of using bloody shoulder markings as wings, that I had a look around the site, decided I'd like to join and, the rest, as they say, is history ^^; To this day, Pegasus is still one of my absolute favourite characters on this site.
So, I guess this picture is as much a thank you as a gift: Thank you, Ibanez, for getting me into SS ^^;

I absolutely ADORE this render! It is PERFECT!! I've always wanted to draw this scene but you portrayed it even better then I could have imagined! Pegasus looks so good here! You do him so much justice. The background and misty super mysterious Pegasus fits so so well. I really like the mist in the shape of wings on him too! Such an awesome touch! Really amazing render! Love it!! Thanks so much!! ^-^ And glad Pegasus inspired you to come join us here at SS < 3 |

I don't really know why; this composition just popped into my head when I was reading his bio ^^;
