C'mon, now, if you don't point out your mistakes, I won't see 'em! I didn't notice the background thing until I looked for it! To remedy that, though, on this particular picture, I'd have tried copying parts of the trees around the area and pasting them back on, and then blurring/smudging the edges.
As for the mane, it isn't a problem~ I just assumed it's on his other side! Anyway, all in all, this looks wonderful - especially for a first shot at photoshop. We have a copy ourselves, but it isn't on my "Baby computer"(A small flip-screen laptop that has a touchscreen, works well with a stylus), so I can't use it. xD
