"Easy...they won't hurt you."

It had been morning when Klepto awoke to the sound of an angry horse stomping on the dusty earth. When he poked his head out of the stables, he saw a white mare, who was obviously wild before her capture. Klepto reaches his head out fursther, calling to the mare.
"Easy...they won't hurt you." He says softly, trying to calm the mare down. "Not unless they hurt you first."

A few minutes passed and Klepto magaed to convince the soldier who was dragging her around to release them into the paddock, where Klepto continued to calm the mare down and showed her around. He'd learned that the mare's name was Envy, and she was rude at first. Klepto just let it go; her world had been turned around 180 degrees. He was showing her how Murphy cares for the yearlings when they're ready tpo be used by the Cavalry, and said that the human wouldn't hurt any horse....just as he'd branded the yearling and he squealed in pain; leading to Envy's shocked expression, and Klepto's embarrassed one.
"Well, ah...Murphy only does that to the war horses; which are ALWAYS brown or bay stallions. That won't happen to you." He mutters, stumbling over his words. Envy shakes her head, wondering what possesses these horses to stay with the two-leggeds.
