Appolah, a young stallion that was owned by the Lakota Tribe, attempted a hug to his best friend, Rain. Appolah was "abandoned" when he was young and has looked up to his best friend,Rain, who took care of him like her own colt. Appolah had many friends here at the Lakota tribe, and loved his life there too,he took on the challenges of life, with his three best friends,Rain, Hiawatha, and Stripes. They were always together, and with there adventures of there foal hoods, they sure created some memories.
While Appolah and his old care taker walked along the edge of the streaming water, they talked of the good times they used to have, Appolah went first, and his old caretaker listened carefully and intensely as he babbled on about all the good times he had a a colt. He started.....
"Wait up you guys!!!"yelled Hiawatha "Slow down!!!"he quickly said
"We don't need to slow down, you need to catch up!!!" said Appolah
"Hah! You need to catch up too App!because I'm beating you!" exclaimed Stripes
The three foals ran down the big, steep hill that led into the Indian village, they knew what time it was, and what time it took to get there, would not be wasted. I know your wondering,"What are they excited about?" They are excited because they have been waiting forever for the foal games, which they had been looking forward to for forever, and technically, them racing, was helping them get ready for the games.
Appolah's story continued on.
"Hey hey hey! Look who it is! My favorite foals!"said one of the mares from the Lakota Tribe. "Are you prepared for the games, because I bet you will all win the games your best at!"
"I know I'm ready!"said Stripes."And I know for a fact that I will win at least three out of the five games!"she said with pride.
"Now don't be getting so cocky there Stripes! What is Appolah or Hiawatha beats you in one of your 'best challenges'?"questioned the mare
"Yeah,I know that I'm a lot better at jumping then you are!"said Appolah
"Oh yeah, well just how high can you jump,Mr.'Spring Foot'?"exclaimed Stripes
"I don't know about you,but I can jump two feet!"said Appolah
"Well, I can jump three feet!" said Stripes
"The highest I can jump is five feet!"lied Appolah
Stripes gasped, she couldn't beat five feet!
Appolah had lied to one of his best friends, he had that feeling in himself that wasn't right, like he regretted lying, but obviously Stripes believed him, so why give up his victory feeling now?
When it came time for the games, Appolah had to figure out a way to be able to jump five feet high, but he had nothing, so he figured he would go through the day and attempt the five foot jump, and when he couldn't do it,and Stripes saw hi, he would tell her the truth.
"Ok,the foal games will be starting in a moment, we will complete the finishing touches on the jumping rally and then start the games!" said the announcer
"I cant wait to see you jump the five feet Appolah"said Stripes
"Yeah....me too" Appolah said with a following sigh
"The games are starting now, please proceed to the stands to watch the jumping challenge now,if you are a contestant, please stand at the starting line, the referee will tell everyone who will be going first, second and so on."said the announcer.
"Here we go"Appolah mumbled to himself
Appolah was the fourth foal to jump, and the time was going way faster then he wished it would be.His turn came, he gulped and got in the position to run.The jump order was 1 feet-5 feet, and he was hoping that he would make it the whole way.He ran....first jump, the one footer, was too easy to explain. The second jump, two feet, slightly bigger, but not by much.He began feeling a bit pressured at three feet, but had a feeling he could do it.Then, the jump, four feet, right before five feet, was the harsh one.He was in the middle of the four foot jump, his hind hoof clashed with the pole, and he went down.He fell, got the wind knocked out of him,and didn't get up.Everyone rushed to the scene,it took a while until he got up,but he finally he did.He woke up with blurry eyes, unknowing of what was going on.He was told of what had happened and went on with his life like nothing happened.Stripes had found out that he lied, and Appolah apologized, she forgave him.
Appolah finished telling his story to his old caretaker, who was listening like the world wasn't going on. His story had finished and now it was his old caretakers turn, she began.Appolah had began listening to his old caretakers story, listening to her as she listened to him.Appolah listened for as long as her story went on, and her story was just as long as his,but with every second of the story,he wanted to know what would happen next.It was full of suspense and surprises, and he was amazed by how it ended. At the end of there wonderful story telling day,Appolah went back to the tribe and parted with his old caretaker,he went into the large paddock where he laid down for the night, and in his dreams,he dreamed of the story his old caretaker had told him earlier that day,and he dreamed of his story he told his old caretaker also earlier that day,and how he wishes he could've fixed that day, because that one little white lie, went far enough to where someone got hurt.
