Spuro Part 1: The Trials

Description : ***NOTE: Lots of fighting, but no bloody descriptions. Horses fight naturally, this story has exagerated it's occurance for entertainment*** Spuro is the grandson of Spirit, and so is destined to take on the role of the lead stallion one day. But he hates to carry any sort of responsability, and dreams of being truely free and not having to care for others. In the colt round-up Spirit decided that Spuro is not suitable to lead the herd, so Spirit sets another horse next in line, and in the process removes Durdango's name from the list and drives Spuro from his home. Spuro looks for a territory of his own where he can do as he pleases, but one fateful night he is attacked by a cougar, which turns out has been set upon him by a twisted herd of batchelor horses called the Band. Over time he learns how to fight and comes to understand that to have freedom you need responsability and rules. But the trials are nearing, and only one of the six horses in his class can become an officer and move up the ranks. Can he beat the bully, Ghost? And will he survive the trials and one day regain his freedom? *Little note: At one point a cougar is called a painter, this is one of the nicknames for them along with mountain lion, puma ect.*
