For 2 years I volunteered at a donkey sanctuary that had a herd of
about 15-20 Shetland ponies that no one wanted. In the summer they'd
lose their thick fluffy coats and look remarkably sleek, albeit with
the same thick manes and tails ^^ Now, it's possible that it depends
on a) where the pony is (I doubt they'd get so sleek in their native
Shetland Isles) and b) their genetics (you'll undoubtedly get fluffier
ponies). But the ones I knew got very sleek in the heat of summer. |
