Character Development Meme from DA
Red Raven is one of my oldest surviving characters, I created him back in the Winter of 2007. So he'll be four years old this December/January.
He was named off of a horse from the second Cloud Documentary "Cloud's Legacy" and his design was based off of the first horse I ever rode: his name was Barney.
He's come a long way, he used to be Spirit's son who he had with another mare (since I believe in the polygamist part of horse behavior staying true to the Katheen Duey books) But his older brother Hawk (By Spirit, out of Rain) Took over the herd, killing Spirit and killing Red's mom, a chestnut mare named Maple.
Red Raven was orphaned and kicked out of the herd, but met an old blue roan mare named River who took care of Red until he was an adult. The Red met a buttermilk dunskin mare named Magic and fell in love with her. They left to start their own herd together but Stone (then a very ugly fleabitten grey) fought with Red Raven and stole Magic. Red Raven learned how to fight from a rogue Bay Pinto stallion named Asher. Red Raven found Stone's herd an fought Stone, defeating him, Stone tried to sucker-punch Red but slipped and fell off of a cliff and died or something.
The current mare Chase, (then a very ugly chestnut pintaloosa with purple eyes) was angry because she was in love with Stone and plotted to avenge her Stally's death.
Meanwhile, the Cimarron got taken over by humans so Hawk moved the herd to the Badlands and started a turf war with Red Raven's herd. Chase defected to join Hawk while Magic gave birth to Flint and then all the bad guys died... the end XD.
Well, that was his story 3.5 years ago really corny and stupid. I then later moved on to other forms of fandom and forgot about red. Then SS started up and I saw an oppertunity to re-invent his story.

This is so awesome!! I love looking at my old drawings and seeing how
much i have improved! Its funny how one thing sounded really good and
then a few years later it sounds really dumb! Your such an awesome drawing! Can't wait to see more! |
