Kinda a quicky. Wasn't liking the hind end at all, so didn't bother coloring a background. I only pretty much like the head and shoulders Dx Oh well.

I did try that originally, but for some reason it looked odd. I
probably had it wrong xD I'll have to try again with this pose. |

I like this one. :D Her hair is all flowy, and her expression very
soft & motherly~ I can't understand why more people don't draw this
ole mare. My only critique would be her back. Adding the "back line" (it's commonly called counter-shading OR a dorsal stripe in the appropriate colors) would help add some direction/hint of position. I usually draw hints of it... above the dock of the tail, shortly after the withers, and somewhere in between. It helps add some "depth" to the picture, instead of having a giant, empty back. |
