Somes
We all know about the two Spirit: SotC games that were made, one for the computer and one for the Gameboy Advance. I own the computer version and came across it. Long story short, I read the manual and it talked about the characters. Some were from the movie, i.e. Spirit, Esperanza, Little Creek, and even ones that had made a canon appearance in the movie as well (the Shaman). Obviously, since the games were "official" in the sense of being tied/based off the Spirit movie, why are the game characters not featured as official characters on the site? Or another question, why can't we make fan characters that are connected to the game characters (such as Little Brook)?
I am asking this question because I made a character that was connected to Spirit, Rain, and Little Creek via game characters Snoring Bear (Chief of Little Creek's tribe) and Eagle Eye (Trader that sold items to Spirit in the game to help complete the puzzles). However, he was deactivated because of the connection not being strong enough to Little Creek or other members of that tribe.

Connections to official Spirit:SotC game characters are allowed, but some people may get confused thinking the game character was one of your fan-made characters. (Not all people may be aware of the game characters since they have never played the game and/or they don't have official character pages on the source yet)
The stronger relation is to keep the characters more related to the source. Some people may create the character connected to a bunch of other fan-characters, write the bio and then quickly scribble down the smallest relation at the end. It's just a way to avoid the character being deactivated for not being Spirit related.
Now we don't mean the chracter to be connected by blood, but more of a good couple of sentences (Or more) explaining the relation in as much detail as possibly, proving that the character is made because you are a Spirit fan, not because you wanted to make the character so it can get alot of attention e.g...
Okay, so not every character will be Spirit's brother/sister/friend/son/daughter but at least these characters must have had some kind of encounter with a Spirit character, whether it be just watching Spirit cross the land on a journey to find out what was happening, or being part of the herd of horses which pulled the train along. Be creative. How can a character that features a small part be related more to the film? That's up to you to decide.

Sadly I never even seen nor have the games, so I have no idea what new
chars there is, but you can no longer put has seen Spirit anymore,
but I agree not every char has to have a strong relation to a official
char. |

I've considered speaking with the mods about this as well. I also agree with BHB-it's a HUGE setback when I'm creating new characters to have to sit at my desk for hours on end trying to find how EERY. SINGLE. CHARACTER. Has a relation to the Spirit chars. X_x |

I think some of the mods on here are being ridiculously restrictive
with the characters they're allowing. I've had 2 characters
deactivated now because "Your character have to be Spirit related and
this have to be strongly explain on her history". For a start, they
are both Spirit related, and I've made it perfectly clear how they are
in their bios. But I also feel that it's stupid for every single
character here to have a strong Spirit relation. Not every character
in the Spirit universe is going to be his best friend/Rain's
brother/The Colonel's personal horse. Why can't the official
characters just have acquaintances? They are realistically not going
to have a million friends and relatives. Why does every character have
to be Spirit's foal/Esperanza's aunt/Little Creek's wife? Why can't
they simply exist in the same universe and have a passing relationship
with one the official characters? |

I think they should be listed as official characters too. It would be
nice to have game characters here as well. |

It makes sense, considering that not ONLY is he connected to a Spirit:
SotC official character on the site, but also a video game character.
Considering the site proposes the game, your character should be
allowed, and perhaps we can talk someone into making a few of the
video game characters official characters to support you and anyone
else who want a connection with them. Some mods make up their own rules though. I suggest asking RainbowKat or Blazetail, since they usually play by the proper rules. I hope this helps~ (: |
As I said I will make them I just have to get the games, I have a lead on one of them the pc one but the game boy game is proving hard
