Question :

We know that here needs to be a certian official character/graphics to OCs/recolours ratio. I noticed that people are kinda "faking" the ratio by posting random linearts coloured into official characters (often saying something like "I needed Spirit related image" in description) or (latest trend, lasses and lads!) posting so called "pre-renders" - collaged and/or halfly-linearted image with official characters.

I this "fake ratio filling" allowed or should it be reported?

Troll--> Unless the official character is supposed to be there, it's cheating. So yes, report those too. Hopefully we'll be able to at least catch them before they're posted, but members seem to be trying to go back afterwards and adding these changes with the icon features to get around the rule, so we don't see them all.

Twily--> Like Blaze said, with flashing text you need to be careful. Gifs ARE allowed though, as long as they're not too large of a file, since they can slow down people's computers if they have a slower connection and the like.

"people render there character and pick a background with a character in the background and tag it"
Thanks for reminding me. This is another annoying trick to get a fake ratio. So should it be reported as well?

DID SOMEONE SAY DRACO MALFOY
i thought flashing content wasn't allowed as it isn't allowed on alot of sites cause there could be (and are) members with epilepsy

anyway

i think these filler images shouldn't be allowed ,theses pre-renders are just screencaps with lines on it and as we know screencaps are not allowed ,as for the lineart fillers they to are just spam

also i saw this happen to, people render there character and pick a background with a character in the background and tag it

Well I take several screenshots of a certain event in Spirit, and not just one and add flashing text, I take like five or six, and add different text to each screen shot, takes me a good three and a half hours to do all of it, I send it, I get told the GIFs aren't allowed, when I have on in my gallery already.

Twily--> Can you explain that a bit? I don't know why they wouldn't be accepted other than if they weren't made well, like just adding text or a simple filter (they're rather lazy).

Thats what I do, but everytime I try to make a graphic I get told they aren't allowed, but I've seen other GIF's on the site that are accepted.

Adding to what Troll just said: If they can't render, there are many tutorials on the forums for members to improve with. Though there aren't as many (that I've seen at least) tuorials around here that show how to do certain affects seen on graphics. But really for that just play around in PS, Gimp, Paint and see how everything works, experiment.

Not a good excuse really. If they can't render and they can't make graphics then why bother? O_o You can't just use linearts for every single thing and yout first image HAS to be a graphic anyway.
And those people CAN render, as seen they render their characters all the time. And like you saw fill into lineart because "they needed a quick Spirit-related image"

Oh, that's what you meant, but not everyone can render either.

Twilly, you misunderstood. I did not mean that image with Spirit character needs to be a graphic (wallpaer, avatar) but it needs to be a dedicated image.
People who randomly colour a lineart or post unfinished renders just to mark some official characters on the image aren't really posting Spirit-related work. I don't think those "fillers" should be accepted.
Good image example: Recolour, meant to show a scene between an OC and movie character - http://www.animationsource.org [...] 5.html&numart=14851&display=18
Bad image example: "I just needed a spirit realtion pic " - http://www.animationsource.org [...] r_Rain.../76.html&numart=25480
