If you use Gimp:
1.Use the "Fuzzy Select" tool to Select the part of the image you want transparent.
2.Then go to "Layer", "Transparency", "Add Alpha Channel".
3.Now use the "Eraser" tool and erase the whole selected area. Now you'll see loads of grey squares.
4. Save the image as a GIF.

If you use Photoshop:
1.Use the "Magic Wand" tool to select the part of the image you want transparent.
2. Use the "Eraser" tool and erase the whole selected area. Now you'll see loads of grey squares.
3.Save the image as a GIF.

If you use another program:
Try searching up a tutorial.

i dont know what you mean but trancperent backgrounds dont work on AS they come up as black
