Sunset Cowgirl
Heyy guys,
i have been on animation source for a while, but i am new to spirit source. I have seen lots of the characters and images and they look so much more professonal then the other sources. I was wondering if anyone could help me in how to make character pictures and images. I have a basic idea but if you can give me any tips that would be great.
Thanks

The reason they look more professional is because they have more experience in making images. It takes time and practice, so don't get worked up because yours aren't as good as someone else.
The best suggestion I can give you is to practice, and if you can invest in one, get a tablet. A tablet will give you far more control than a mouse.
There are a couple more programs that Celtic didn't list that are also good. Since Photoshop isn't free (There is Photoshop Elements which is cheaper than the full editor), there is the Gimp which is free. There is also the site sketcher. (Pixlr)
If you've not used programs like photoshop, Gimp or Pixlr, then I suggest you starting off using simpler programs such as Photofiltre or paint.net. Starting off small is a great way to go so you can learn to get familiar with the tools.
Here are the links to some of them.
