In other sources, like the lion king, characters that never actually appeared in the movie but in the books are made offical characters, so why arnt strider, alma, sierra, bonita, rafeal, storm ect. offical characters?

They arent official characters because they didnt appear in the movie. I am not completely postive if there is a Lion King book, but I know there is one for Spirit. That may be the issue, whether or not there is a LK book, because you never know if there is and the mods or site builders actually talked to the movie makers or whatever and they told the mods about XS characters. I have never read the Spirit books [but I absalutely want too] so I cant truly tell you, but I do think that you may be confused for whether or not there is an LK book, because this whole question revoloves around that.

Hope this helps :D
