Sometimes, I have a hard time fully finishing an history because, the character is really fresh in my mind, and i don't have enough back story for them to write even a 5 line history, as the rules recommend, however more and more i see characters who have 1 or 2 line historys and even no history at all, and i am confused. Can i make a character who doesn't have a history? or will that be breaking a rule?
thanks in advanced to anyone whom can, straighten this out for me, because i am confused lol.

Yes you have to have a full history. Steet has said so himself he
wants WELL MADE characters. These are HIS rules, so don't go blaming
the mods. Though I fully agree. If you can't think of a full history
at the moment, don't make the page yet, simple as that. |

i dont think we really have a choice anymore the mods are more
controlling than ever. Aniu is right however one mod has been reporting characters herself/himself. so I would advise to use caution -_- im just saying i dont want you to end up like me, also sometimes its best to think
up a bio before hand of posting it on here so then nothing can go
wrong i hope this helps just a tiny bit :/ |

No one really minds if no bio is given anymore. Plus, when you're
making foal characters whose history is undecided as of yet, I'm sure
most users understand if not much is given. |

So it is still mandatory that characters have bios? I've been doing the Microsoft word thing however the history usually comes to be after i make the design. thanks for the help, both you you ![]() Also is it a aloud to put an like "I owe you" in the history like have it 2 or 3 lines or no lines log and put "coming latter?" I've seen a few people do this and there's nothing there for days, am i allowed to do this? or is that not following the rules as well. sorry i know this must be a pain i'm just trying to make sure i stay within the rules,in the future, and I'm still kinda new and trying to learn how things work around here. |

Actually, Halt, there are no more character mods, since Steet changed
the layup. Characters are now made automatically and it's up the the
members to keep them in line by reporting them. And I have to say, if you look at my characters, I put a LOT of effort into them, but sometimes a history is the hardest part. Once I make a character, as in once I finish his or her design, the next thing indo is force myself to sit down and Artie a LONG personality. My characters uaully have complex personalities, and as I write, doors into are opened. My newest endeavor is a character that's - HUGE flirt, so I think as I write, how can that get him in trouble? Why is he a flirt? Does he flirt with only mares? How can I possible get away with have a stallion that flirts with other stallions only on necessity? Why does he do this? Like I said, as I write, doors are opened. Also, try to involve at least two or three unique vents and focus on those. As the character "grows" you'll be able to add more. Hope this helps! Btw, if you see any characters that have, like you said, short or no histories, do report them. That's against the rules. -Dizzy |

Originally, it was a rule that you must have a history but now it
seems that the mods are letting people loose. I know that allot of
people think that histories should be a 'must' and personally i agree.
The best characters have a good background story! When i come up with a new character, i usually create their design then write up their history on microsoft word and come back to it again and again, then later copy and past the bio onto the site. Try that perhaps just to avoide any confusion (since some mods seem to have different rules) I hope this helps a little. |
