I was wondering if you can base a fanfic on a movie, book, or something like that, and use Spirit characters along with a few others. Sorry if this question has been asked before, but if it was I couldn't find it.

What I mean by based on a movie is kind of what Tweedbug said, where
the Spirit characters are the characters in that certain movie. |

I think you can. As long as the fanfic isn't COMPLETLEY based off the
movie; for example:- Same character names, same ending e.t.c; As long
as its not entirely based off the movie i think it should be fine.
Just use bits and pieces of the movie script/scene/moves and put them
in your own words. |
