Welcome to the Octaliah herd! a herd with lush green grass to roam in, large trees to be protected by and beautiful flowing rivers to bathe in. It is placed a while away from the Lakota tribe and in amongst mountain ranges and cliffs. When winter comes it hits harshly with bad blizzards and many feets off snow, but in summer its serene and peaceful. A beautiful spot for foals to flourish. The herd it lead by Loki, who defends it nobly but also takes the sneaky and crude way out. He treats his mares with respect more than love but can be quite romantic.

Now here are the rules:

-No fighting over ranks

-Loki preffers grullos, paints, appaloosa's and flaxens

-You can use linearts but credit the original artist

-Any breed is allowed for any rank

-MAKE SURE YOU SEND IN BIO'S, if the bios arent sent in within a week of the entries, they wont get a chance. Sorry but too many times has it happened that people have sent in their entries but never the bios.

-If any of your mares within the herd want a foal with Loki, theres no need to ask just make the colt/fillie and i'll add them to the herd project :)

-Your entries may not have mates outside of the herd, they can have crushes outside but not mates please

Here are the ranks you can try for:

-Lead mare: Loki's mate and in charge of the decisions of the herd and keeps the herd prtected along side the lead stallion.

-Soldiers: These are the only stallions allowed in the herd, they prtect the herd with everything they've got . They can take one mate each.

-The Rainah: The rank of horses who make medicine, sing and dance for the herd and look after the pregenant mares, they are into accessorising and are always mares, they can take one mate each.

-Messengers: The small rank of messengers are actually a very important one, they deliver special news from the Octaliah herd to the tribe horses, cavalry horses and other herds. They sometimes travel long distances to deliver news.

-apprentices: These are the yearlings basically, they have no choice but to train for a rank that they'll be placed into when they are old enough, the colts are instantly trained for Soldiers but the fillies have more of a variety to choose from.

-Teachers: Also a new rank, the teachers are the ones who guid the apprentices in which path/rank they choose to be in when they are old enough. These horses are usually either older or the smartest of the herd and play a large role in the herds ways.

-Foal sitters: a new rank to the herd, these mares and sometimes stallions; are the ones in the herd who look after the foals when the rest of the herd is out or busy. They do make up an important part of the herd by their will to keep the foals safe.

-Foals: the life and joy of the herd, foals are the ones who keep loki's bloodlines going, he allows all foals to stay until they wish when they're older. They are the rank before becoming an apprentice.

-regular mares: They are just the regular mares of the herd, they do play an important role though. Keeping Loki's bloodlines going, they may only breed with Loki.

relaxed and trying to don`t do anything bad , it was a green pride with many flowers and one river where you can se what was inside the water , and have some mountains around i feel that i was part of there , so i lived there and my favorite thing in there was the winter, the pride was complete white and with divine decorations with ice, but since winter gets the horses go except me , I love the winter and most if is in a beautiful place , i have always feel alone in the pride i can`t go , i know all the herd that pass spring there until one spring a the octalian herd were placed in pace , that day was incomparable , i was seeing at the river how sunlight touched the water when the lead stallion Loki was pasting near , when he saw Free he opened the eyes maybe it was love at first sight , but me no ! i liked Loki but it wash´t love , i turned back to see loki when at his back there he was a stallion named Zambah , when the winter get as always all the herd go and in my head was always the thinking of ... know more about that herd about the herd of loki, when in a day of a fatal fall snow i decide it , i go searching the herd and then when i find it i spy them but the catch me the guardians including Loki see me at one , but loki was confuse so as the same time that he love her she was accepted in the herd. more to come later when her page get up

Personality: Kestrel is a kind and gentle mare who cares deeply for her herd mates. She can be quite cowardly at times, and trembles if she’s yelled at. But she always tries her best, and will put the needs of the herd above her own, if necessary. She has a deep fondness for foals Willing to adopt foals: Yes short bio: Kestrel was born in the Cimarron Herd when Spirit was a yearling. Her father wasn’t Strider, but she thought of him as her father, and was devastated when he vanished. In fact, she couldn’t stay in the Cimarron Herd any longer afterwards, and left to find her own way in the world.

Name: Hermes breed: Nokota rank trying for: Messenger or Soldier (preferably Messenger) how he met Loki: When he was seeking refuge after getting set free by the Colonel. Personality: Hermes is (off duty) a carefree stallion who has a soft spot for foals, who he likes to take care of. His loyalty to Loki and the other herd members is unwavering and sturdy. On duty, he takes his work seriously and would never forgive himself if he did something wrong. Willing to adopt foals (if its a mare): No, Hermes is a stallion. short bio: Hermes was born in a lonely stable inside the cavalry fortress. When he was a yearling, he was sent out with his father to send messages to and from the fortress. One day, there was a Lakota raid and his father was accidentally shot by a stray arrow from the lakotas. Frightened, Hermes went on to deliver the message and was sent home afterwards with a brave young lad. A year later, the Colonel had deicded to free the stallion into the wild. Hermes was scared to leave but he eventually found refuge with The Octaliah herd. He was welcomed with open arms and continues to serve the stallion kind enough to take him in. When he isn't on duty he spends his time chatting politely with the mares and playing gently with the foals. Here's my entry :D had to join this project Name: Flora Breed: Mustang (with appaloosa colouring) Rank trying for: Just a regular mare How she met Loki: She had run away from her previous herd that she absolutely hated and saw him grazing in a field, she hadn't seen another horse in a while so she decided to go talk to him Personality: Caring, loving, loyal, wise, smart Willing to adopt foals: Yes if necassary Short bio: Flora was actually born in the cimarron herd to a regular mare, but she hated it there, she was made fun of as the other foals hated her colouring, she was the only appaloosa in the whole herd, so when she was 3 years old and seen as mature enough by Spirit, she was allowed to leave to find her own destiny Base (c) Me
