To the Artisan Herd. It was founded by a Stallion named Artisan and carried out by his son Conair. When Conair’s Daughter talked her dear friend Emery into taking over the herd, the herd Flourished. Emery is now in Need of more herd members, Including a Lead mare, Favorite mare, and Second in Command Stallion.
The Artisan herd, takes over the whole span of the Rocky Mountains, it has vast landscapes, from the heights peeks to the lowest valleys. This herd has a serious rivalry with Spirits herd (which they call the strider herd) and the Cedar herd ( run by Timber son of the stallion Cedar from the books) so it is heavily involved with the spirit universe.
How to Enter
To enter your horse please send a link to their page or send in an Image and Bio, in your bio please state which position that character wants to be. If your character gets in please have its page up within 3 days.
Your character jets to pick his or her role, this means on their page, you can list them as a Foal sister, healer, whatever. Just don’t list them as one of the position below if it is not what they tried out for.
If you are trying for Lead mare, or Second in Command Stallion
To try out for these roles you much have experience in running an active herd, because you will be Co-owners of the herd, and will be able to say whether or not a character is in or out and help manage and enhance the herd. Your characters (lead mare and Second in command stallion) will have a lot of pull in the herd so in a way you and your characters will share the same role. This being said Please send me a PM listing what herds (active) you manage (d) and why you think you’d be a good candidate for helping the herd stay alive. If you can provide a reference from another user it’ll boost your chances.

The herd is made up mostly of Mustangs, Abstangs, Quarter Horses, Prewenzki’s, American Cream Drafts, Holsteins and Indian paint horses. You will not find any other breeds here over 99.9% of the time unless they are children of Emery.
Other animals you’ll find in the area are Black bears, grizzly bears, mountain lions, Pronghorn Antelope, Bison, Bighorn Sheep, Coyote, grey wolf, grey fox, red fox, beaver, moose, wapiti, mule deer, white tailed deer, southern red-back vole, sagebrush vole, long tailed vole, mountains vole, bushy tailed wodrat, muskrat, rock mouse, deer mouse, heather vole, porcupines, lynx, bobcat, norther pocker gopher, snowshoe hare, white tailed jackrabit, nuttall's cottontail, wolverines, river oters, martens, striped skunk, ermine, long tailed weasel, mink, western spotted skunk, badger, pika, raccoons, yellow bellied marmot, aberts squirrel, wyoming ground squirrels, chipmunks, shrews, bats, myotis.
There are six main territories that take up area.

Biting Wood: a forest located in the higher mountain ranges, always covered with snow, in the summer, not a good place for foals. It has a frozen lake and two small hot springs. It’s a very dense and shade filled forest. One of the coldest areas in the herd’s territory. Wolves and Black bears are the biggest threats in this area.
The Meadows: these consist of numinous areas at the lowest points of the Rockies where there are lush green meadows, each are near rivers or small trickling brooks. These hold most of the herd population. Threats here are Coyotes and Cougars, from time to time there may be a grizzly.
Bison Peek: Is a small valley containing the largest river in the area. Bison, moose, and elk like to gather around from time to time with the Herd. The river takes up much of the valley so there isn’t much standing room on the flat ground. The rest of the terrain is made up of very steep hills and rocky cliffs. Mountains lions and bears like to visit this area for hunting.
Israel’s Wood: Named after a member of the herd and daughter of the former lead mare. It is a wide range forest, generally warm and welcoming in its looks. It is also the location of the Birthing den, a large cave with a fallen tree on top of it, this is where the mares go to give birth. The forest is the safest place to let foals get used to their legs and walking around. It is heavily protected and to dense for Bears to get into, however Wolves are a problem in the winter. The Forest contains two ponds and a water fall and a large clearing of which to graze.
The Grand Vale: Is a very shallow marsh with islands of solid land clustered together. The edge of the marsh leads to the great water falls that feed all of the water falls in the herd’s territory. The Grand Vale is considered the safest place in the herd because hardly any predators or humans venture there. It’s not at the highest peak but it’s still fairly high up. This territory holds a large number of the herd as well and is often the gathering place at night. Most foals are taken here after the first 2 days of them being born. They stay here with their mother until they are 2 years old. Emery spends a lot of time here.
Cold Mountain: this is a sacred place, and hard to get too, these mountains are were Emery and his Second Comand gather with the gaurds and the advisors in hard times, it’s also the place in which ill horses go when they know it’s time for their life to end. Horses come her to pay respect to the dead.

Birthname: Tombstone
Age: Foal pic pictured as adult (I need to make foal reffs, like bad XD)
Gender: Male
Dam: Unknown possibly killed by wolves
Sire: Unknown but alive
Siblings: Flor (Twin sis)
Breed: Pintaloosa
Likes: Emery, following his sis into trouble (XD), rolling around, play fighting
Dislikes: Wolves, snotty foals
Personality: Tomby is a odd stallion, he is a social stallion, but also a bit reclusive, he often follows his sister into her adventures of the herd lands when she is up to it, he is a fighter and a loyal friend, he loves to try to act like Emery, but he fails alot.
History: Tomby and Flor where born near the Cimarron, but Spirit merely looked down on the foals and was going to kill them, when he was rearing up a grullo stallion knocked Spirit over and attacked him, sending him back to his herd with various cuts, he also debated on killing the foals seeing them so close to the herd, thinking that their mother was part of the wretched herd... until he looked over to the left and saw the body of the foals mother, cold and lifeless, puncture wounds all over her body and her chest cavity ripped open by wolves, upon inspecting the horrid sight the stallion seen the US brand on the mare. The stallion looked around for the foals father, but didn't see him, so he stood the foals up and marched them to his herd up in the mountains. Tomby was a bit cautious about the mountains till Flor raced forward to another foal.
Name: Wren
Age: Depends
Breed: Spanish Andalusian X Knabstrubber X Westphalian
Character: Wren is a soft, calm and sweet mare, although she is highly under estimated. Horses think she is blind, because of her eerie grey eyes, but for a fact, she isn't blind. She gives off a spooky and dark feeling when she is around and most mares stay away from her. It breaks her heart to see mares looking at her with horror in their eyes, and Wren is grateful to have Emery by her side. Emery supports her through the hard times, and is always there for her.
Bio: Wren was born in a small spanish town called Mijas {Mee-hass}, and like all others the men were spooked but curious about her light grey eyes. At that time, Wren's mother Dahliah was the only mare who treated her with proper respect. All the other horses and men left her alone, thought she would die from blindness and stupid things like that. Dahliah worked for a small horse show that was very popular in Mijas, Los caballos bellos. Wren tried to do the tricks that her mother could do, but she gave up.
One night the stable was robbed, and some men took Wren away from Dahliah. Wren was put in a van and was droven to a small ferry port. She was shipped to America, and sold to some cavalry soldiers. Wren lived in the cavalry fort for a year or so, then when the fort was ambushed by a native american tribe she escaped. Emery then found her and took her into the herd. She has lived there ever since.
