Generally easy to get along with, but has a hidden temper when pushed too far. While he enjoys being in a small group, at times he also prefers to be alone. At times he is very stubborn and independent, often going off alone sometimes for just a couple hours, to days. Namin is intelligent and chooses to think his decisions through more often than not unless desperate. He and Moteado sometimes butt heads when making big choices because of this, but have never hurt each other. Though Namin does enjoy pestering the horse at times, chasing him around or playing with his tail.
History:
Grew up as a pretty normal cub, raised with his siblings by his parents and other family in some caves located in the canyons. When he was beginning to learn how and what to hunt, he discovered he had really no interest in hunting and eating horses. For some reason the meat did not taste appealing to him at all. It made for meals to be difficult, since horse was a common prey. It meant Namin's parents would have to either hunt twice to bring him his own meals, or separate (mother hunting one prey, father hunting another). His parents thought and hoped their son would grow out of the strange preference.
While knowing he was disappointing his family, Namin still just couldn't stomach horse meat. But thankfully as he grew, he was able to hunt for himself to unburden his parents. Finding fish to be just about his favorite prey, he also discovered he enjoyed swimming as well and found it a nice quick way to cool off and get out of the heat.
Life changed one day though, as while on a hunt with his family, it suddenly went awry as hunters showed up and separated them in their desperation to get away. Alone and frightened, Namin ran into a small herd of horses, scaring them as well. In the chaos however he did manage to warn them about the hunters, and gained their trust enough to let him lead them away from the area (it's later found that the herd was the one Moteado lost). Unfortunately when they separated afterwards, Namin accidentally stepped into a hunter's trap, and his leg was caught in the mechanism. Able to smell and hear the humans coming he panicked, nearly damaging his leg beyond repair in trying to get away.
But before the hunters came upon him, Moteado, in search of the herd he had lost, found him. In the end, the young stallion ended up breaking him free from the metal trap and leading him to safety. Confused, he asked the horse why he had helped him. "No one deserves to die like that, even if we are suppose to be enemies." In return, curious to know if the stallion was a part of the herd he had helped earlier, told Moteado about them. Grateful, the two left to seemingly go their separate ways and never meet again.
A few days passed, in which Namin's leg was still wounded and healing, making it hard to travel. Bunking down in an abandoned cave, still far from his family's territory, he wondered if his family was worried about him and if they were safe. It would turn out that his younger brother Naji would find him, as well as Moteado again while out trying to hunt for himself. He found out the stallion had been outcast from his herd for not only losing the group he had been with, but being responsible for one's death. With no one else to keep them company, the group stayed together the next few days, as Moteado felt he should help the cougar get back to his pride and repay his debt.
Getting back once able to walk well enough, unfortunately Namin wasn't greeted well bringing a befriended horse into the territory. They attacked in anger but were unable to get very close to the stallion, who ended up wounding several of them in defense. Furious, Namin was banished and disowned, called shameful and a betrayer of his kind for the 'crime'. But managing to escape, the group banded together and became unlikely friends with more in common than they thought.
When Moteado was unexpectedly captured by the human calvalry, at first Namin had feared the worst in that his new friend was dead or gone forever. There was nothing the big cat could do about it without being killed himself in a rescue. But even so, he eventually tracked down the stallion, but the rescue attempt failed and Namin had to run away before being caught or killed himself. Thankfully, through some unknown cause the horses were all freed, and the two friends were reunited, plus one more horse named Chase. Namin and the Chestnut got along well, even though it wasn't easy for the horse at first.
Namin supports Moteado's wanting to create a herd of his own, as long as he can still be included. The stallion also is allowing the Puma to recruit his own kind, as long as they don't attack him or other horses he lets join.
Other:
Because of the wound to his leg, he has a permanent gimp and is dissabled by it slowing him down, making it harder to hunt. Traveling long distances is also hard, but Moteado usually lets him ride on his back if he gets too sore or tired.
If anyone is interested in having a horse or cougar character join their herd/pride please PM me.
