History
Scout was born in the East on a very wealthy ranch. His father was one of the Stallions up for stud, and his mother was one of the broodmares. Originally, Scout himself was to be put up for stud because of his striking coat color. But that all changed when a Cowboy from the West came to buy a few new roundup horses. He offered a large amount of money for the colt, and a few other horses. That same day, Scout was taken on a long journey from the East, to the West.
When Scout was old enough, the Cowboy gelded him, and began some very basic groundwork. Scout was a very quick learner, and was eager to please. He was soon broken in to ride, branded, and shoed.
One day, the Cowboys wandered out into some new territory. The day seemed to pass quickly, and they set up camp in a small clearing among some trees. During the night, a strange stallion crept into the camp, causing a chase to follow his through the Cimarron terittory. The Dunsking stallion was caught that morning. The cowboys knew he would fetch quite a bit of money if he were to be sold.
Scout was chosen to be one of the horses to lead the stallion to the Cavalry. A long journey it was, through deserts and canyons, Rain storms and scorching heat. But it was worth it. The Cavalry paid a fair price for the stallion. But they also showed interest in Scout. They offered a large amount for the Gelding, but the Cowboys turned down the offer. They left, a bit ruffled by the offer.
