Personality
Aster is a rather quiet and calm mare. Aster tends to spend her time on her own or around a small group of her friends and family. She tends to be very serious and responsible, and also very protective of those she cares about. Aster often acts very "motherly" towards her friends, usually making sure everyone is okay and often scolding them whenever they are acting carelessly or not being careful enough. Aster is also rather headstrong and stubborn when it comes to things that are important to her. She is also rather kind to most, and tries to avoid conflicts as well she can, though this might make her seem cold and distant at times.

History
Aster is born to Thorn and Moon at the home of the Lakota indians around the same time Rain left to join the Cimarron herd with Spirit. As a foal she took a liking to Little Creek, who often took care of her. As Aster grew, Little Creek eventually became her new owner. He gave her a black and white feather for her mane like he had done with Rain. Over the years, the two formed a very close bond. Once Aster became full grown, she met a wild stallion named Talon while she was spending time on her own outisde of the Lakota indians' camp. She was rather intrigued by the brave and mysterious stallion, and found herself looking for him almost every day after their very first meeting. Eventually the two fell into a routine of meeting each other, and Aster started falling for the stallion. However, the two had a rather rocky start at their relatiosnhip, as Talon wasn't very affectionate nor was very willing to show Aster his feelings. but eventually, Aster and Talon learned to communicate, and they became mates. Aster learned that Talon had been a leader of his own herd, but another stallion had won him in a fight and taken over the herd, exiling him. Aster offered that he could come down to live with her and the Lakota indians, but he refused, saying that he couldn't live so closely with humans, no matter if they were good or bad. Aster was rather down because of this, but respected his decision. Time passed, and eventually Aster realized that she was expecting. She went to tell Talon, but her mate also had news for her: he had won back his herd and beat the past leader in a fight again. Excited, the stallion asked her to join his herd with him. Aster was happy for her mate, but knew she ouldn't leave Little Creek, her parents and her friends. The two argued, and Aster finally told Talon that she was pregnant. the stallion was shocked, though not angry. The two decided to give each other a few days to figure out what they would do, and Aster went back to the indians while Talon returned to his herd. A few days later when they met up again, talon told Aster that he was happy to become a parent, but he couldn't abandon his herd now that he had gotten it back. Aster accepted this and suggested they separate, but remain as friends and would take care of their foal together whenever Talon had time. Talon agreed that this would be the best thing to do as the situation caused a lot of pressure and tension between the two. Talon returned to his herd and Aster went back to Little Creek. Time passed, and Aster gives birth to a filly. Little Creek names her Dawn, as she was born at sunrise. Aster excitedly waits for Talon to visit them so he could meet their daughter, but days pass, and Talon never arrives. Aster decides to focus on her daughter instead of Talon. Once Dawn gets older, Aster finally takes her out to the meadow with the other horses. While they are feeding and relaxing, they are suddenly alerted by a cry for help from little Dawn. Everyone hurries over to see what's going on, and see the small foal fallen into a river. Aster is about to jump in to save her daughter, but befre she has time, an unknown mare shows up and leaps into the water after her instead. The rest of the horses run along the river to see what is going on, and eventually are met with the unknown mare pulling Dawn from the flooding river. Aster rushes over with her own parents, and after they make sure that Dawn is okay, the mare introduces herself as Amber, and that she had seen the foal falling in while playing and had to help. Aster thanks her several times and asks Amber to stay with them for the night as a thank you for saving Dawn. Amber agrees and rests with Aster and Dawn for the night. While Dawn is asleep, Aster and Amber get to know each other better, and talk for the entire night. The two get along surprisingly well, and Amber decides to stay with the indians for longer to spend more time with Aster and Dawn. Time passes, and Aster and Amber become very close, much to Aster's horror, as she is afraid of getting another mate after Talon abandoning her and Dawn. However, Amber reassures her, and the two let things happen at their own time. Eventually, the two become mates, and Amber starts raising Dawn as if she was her own daughter as well.
