Personality

Hazel doesn’t only look like her parents, she also has a personality that is a clear mix of their own personalities. She does resemble her mother, Rain, more. She is usually very calm and sweet. She is very caring towards her friends and family, and just like her parents, she is very brave and protective. She can be outgoing, but mostly she is very selective on who she decides to get close with. Hazel can also get very stubborn when she wants to, and she can sometimes get even aggressive when she stands up for something she finds important. Towards her love interests, she is usually caring and understanding, but also possessive and gets jealous easily, and it sometimes even drives her to lose her calm, as seen with both Zephyr and Thunder. She is very adventurous and curious, and it sometimes gets her in trouble. She isn’t interested in leading the herd when the time comes, causing her to have small fights with her parents sometimes, which are quickly solved, thanks to Rowan, who has offered to take the place as next leader for the Cimarron herd.

History

Hazel is born to Rain and Spirit. She befriends a few foals her age: a filly named Dove and two colts, Eagle and Ray. She also gets close to Zephyr, soon developing a crush on the said colt. She spends her time with her friends and family, usually listening to Esperanza’s stories with the other foals. One day when all of them are out, a group of wranglers appear. The herd manages to escape, all but young Zephyr, who is captured and taken away. Hazel demands for her parents to go and save him, but Spirit tells her it is way too dangerous. Hazel remains sad for years because of losing her best friend and crush, but she starts getting over it after getting close with Thunder. She soon falls in love with the young stallion, but she doesn’t realize that her feelings are unrequited, and Thunder is in love with a young, beautiful mare from another herd, called Heather instead. One day Hazel decides to confess, but Thunder lets her down gently and tells her he doesn’t feel the same way for her. Disappointed in herself and angry, Hazel goes to wander around the territory, only to stumble upon a shocking sight: Thunder together with an unknown mare. Hazel decides to confront them, telling them they can’t be together and should stay away from each other. Heather and Hazel start arguing, and they are pulled apart by Thunder. Thunder goes home with Hazel, sending Heather to her own herd. The next day Hazel sees Thunder leave and she follows him, only to see him meet up with Heather again. Hazel finally realizes they are in love and decides to let it go, only watching from a distance before returning to the herd. Her little brother is born that day, and she names him Rowan. Hazel now decides to focus on her friends and family and forget Thunder. Later, she is out on a walk with Dove, and they bump into an exhausted Zephyr and an unknown mare. Shocked, Hazel and Dove take the two back to the herd, who welcomes the two with open arms. Zephyr introduces the mare as Amber, his close friend, and he then tells the herd what happened to them. Humans forced them to work, and Zephyr and Amber were able to escape after a few years of being there, Amber joining Zephyr as she had no home or herd. Hazel and Zephyr start rekindling their relationship, both of them falling in love. It doesn’t take long until Zephyr confesses, and the two become mates. The life in the herd continues normally, small quarrels and drama happening every once in a while. Hazel and Amber have a complicated relationship, Hazel being jealous of her and Zephyr’s friendship and Amber neing annoyed by Hazel. Then suddenly, Thunder comes home with Heather, much to Hazel’s disgust. Heather has decided to join the Cimarron herd to be with Thunder. The two mares continue to be enemies. Years pass and Hazel becomes pregnant, and Rowan gets a mate, Clover. Hazel and Zephyr name their daughter Willow. Soon Rowan and Clover have twins, named Cloud and Petal.
