Bio:
Gabby was 10 when she was found rummaging through the trash in the U.S., New York to be specific. It is unknown how she got to America or why she was alone. She was imprisoned in a hellish orphange run by a cruel, heartless woman and her kiniving, weasel-like husband. She was abused and teased unmercifully because of her refusal to speak English. It was suspected she was unable to learn.
Gabby soon became moody, emotional, and even dangerous. As she got older, she got into more and more trouble each day for attacking the other orphans who mocked her. She was met with heavy retribution with each fight she managed to get herself into. Beaten and left in solitary confinement, Gabby began plotting her escape. She escaped several times over the years, but was returned each time, harshly whipped, and left alone in a cold, dark basement for days at a time.
At the age of 15, Gabby finally escaped for good. She was almost captured, but she managed to slip away from that horrible place and those terrible people.
She traveled west, and when she hit the Pacific ocean, she headed south. She wandered alone for 2 years before settling on a secluded coniferous mountaintop in Oregon, not far from the town of Meridero. She enjoys watching the wildlife and even enjoys the company of a pack of wolves, with whom she developed a strong relationship.
She occasionally drops into Meridero to grab some food, usually at night. Sometimes she'll do some work for local businesses in exchange for food. Some people in town are nice to her despite her lack of communication skills and occasional run in with the law.
Relationship with Spirit Universe:
Lives near and visits Meridero (Spirit Riding Free series).
Lucky sees her for the first time when the girl is being harassed by Greyson in town. Lucky manages to drive him off, and the girl reacts with a grateful smile before scurrying off into the trees. Lucky suggests to her friends that they should try to get to know her, even befriend her. The others admit that not much is known about "The Wild Girl", not even her name, where she's from or if she has any family. When Lucky persists, Pru coyly admits that her father expressly forbade her from interacting with the girl, as she is a suspected thief.
Lucky remains dissuaded even after her father and aunt Cora tell her to stay away from the girl. After Lucky witnesses Greyson briefly harassing her again, this time, outside of town, she and Spirit decide to sneakily follow the girl into the mountains, where she discovers the girl resides among a pack of wolves. The wolves notice them and retreat, leaving Lucky to ask the girl numerous questions. The girl also quietly advances into the trees, and Lucky, feeling defeated, goes home.
The Wild Girl appears in town a few months later and is caught eyeing Greyson's new horse. When he accuses her of trying to steal it and tries to have the girl jailed, Lucky steps in as a witness, stating the girl was only looking at the horse, and asks the sheriff if such a thing is a crime, to which he admits it's not. Desperate, Greyson tells the sheriff that the girl was also caught trespassing on his land. The sheriff reluctantly decides to jail the girl until her family is found.
That night, Lucky decides to pay the girl a visit, only to find the cell empty, and the window bars bent. The light of the moon shone inside the cell on a cow's leg bone and a broken belt. The next morning on her way to school, Lucky overhears Greyson yelling at the sheriff for "letting her escape". After school, Lucky takes Spirit up to the mountains to see the girl. Once again, the wolves retreat, but this time, the girl advances towards Lucky, smiling broadly. Lucky tells the girl how happy she is that she managed to escape and promises to never tell anyone, not even her friends, about her whereabouts, as she respects the girls' privacy.
As Lucky mounts her horse to leave, she introduces herself formerly as Lucky Prescott. Spirit turns to walk away and Lucky's eyes gleam as she hears the words, "My name is Gabrielle." spoken behind her. She whips around in time to see Gabby wink and bound off into the shadows to rejoin her pack.
