Sarina doesn't remember her childhood but she's sure of one thing. She lost her own parents in really young age. Between first 4-6 months of her life. She was never graving about that, because he farther taught her about circle of life and that everything happens for a reason. Her mother on the other hand, always lived with the quote 'Carpe Diem' - catch the day. That's now the quote she keeps saying in her heart everyday.
When she was only 1 year old she was caught by the cavalary and brutally beaten up for unknown reason. They didn't kill her like the rest of the mares. Cavalary was testing her to see how much pintos can handle to give this breed a chance aside of the mustangs to mount. She took it all the way but not without feeling terryfing pain. In the end she got permament bruises which would remind her of this hateful encounter.
She was saved by the Lakota tribe when she was left on the verge of dying... and to be more clear, she was saved by Rain and Little Creek. In the begging she didn't trust any of them but she quickly was fond of Rain, which gave her feeling of peace. Whenever Rain was around, Sarina was always calm. And only thanks to her, she decided to give a chance to the humans of Lakota tribe, especially to Rain's owner, Litte Creek who was the one to tame this broken Pinto.. he manged to get her full trust after showing no harm to her and proving her that not all humans are the same.
She and Little Creek became very close friends, her bond with him was as strong as his bond with Rain. She stayed with the tribe, seeing that it was the only place she could actually call home. She was there when Little Creek once dissapeared for days but came back with a stallion of mustang breed called Spirit. She learned that Little Creek and said mustang were caught by the cavalary, until Spirit managed to break them frre. She was grateful to Spirit for this.
The day when cavalary attacked tribe some time after Little Creek's return... she got separated from Rain and Little Creek, in desperate need in trying to find them, she ventured out of the tribe only ending up running into cavalry's horse. This way she also met the future love of her life. The stallion went stiff wen he saw her, and both of them knew it was love at the first sight. They spent some time knowing each other, despite being aware that they are both on the opposite sides. When it was time of cavalary backing away, Patriot promised that he will return to her, Sarina despise the fact that he was devoted to those cruel humans, that only devasted her homeland, but she knew it couldn't be helped since it was the enviroment he grew in. So they bid their farewells. The Lakota tribe, relocated with the people and horses that survived.
Sarina was supporting Rain, when she returned injured to the tribe. Little Creek also went in search for the Spirit. Sarina was heartbroken seeing how Rain was moruning over the loss of the stallion she used to love.
Let them ride free and Sarina will face her own future... she's still young. Also she need to be there for Little Creek. After some days passed, Little Creek successfuly returned to the tribe with Spirit, reuniting Rain and him together. Sarina was sad once she heard that Rain with leave with Spirit to his land, but she knew it was only way to make her 'sister' feel really happy. The farewell hurt her badly, but she promised Rain that she will take care of Little Creek.
As the times passed...
Sarina was chilling at river one summer night. Enjoying her alone time, away from the tribe. That's when she noticed stallion approaching her. And it was no one else than Patriot himself. He kept his promise about coming back and she happily ran to him, hugging him. He said that he was set free, due to his retirement and he wanted to stay with her, forever. That's when Sarina showed him how look in tribe really looks like, and how people there are like. Little Creek befriended Patriot and conviced him that their tribe isn't different from cavalary, when it comes to being humas. But their culturue and behavior was different, they were more united with nature, kind hearted and only miniding their life. That's when Sarina made Patriot understand that those people always were innocent and the only time they were killing, was when they were hunting for food. Not for selfish desires as cavalary. Patriot warmed up to evereyone, but only with the help of the mare he fallen inlove with. He swore with his life that he will defend this tribe and Sarina, all together.
