 Hybrid was born to Esperanza and Cedar Jr. Eldest Son of Cedar in the Cimarron herd.  

Hybrid grew up with a colt named Fred, who had a Twin named George, was kicked out of the herd at 6 months old as every colt is in the cimarron herd, if they do not wish to challenge the leader Cedar Jr. himself. Hybrid and Fred grew close over the 6 months they were together and grew very strong feelings for one another. One night as Hybrid was sleeping she was awoken by a nudge, on her shoulder. She opened her eyes to see Freds golden brown eyes staring at her and she was fluster but managed to speak, *Fred what are you doing?* she nickered quietly trying not to wake her mother and the others. Fred nickered for her to follow him and she got up and followed him. He took her deep into the forest where they could talk loudly but yet not be heard. *Hybrid I want To show you something.* Hybrid was weirded out, *Show me what?* she asked suspiciously, He chuckled and then nodded his head in the direction behind her where the forest was swarmed with lightening bugs. She was amazed that she couldnt keep her eyes off of them, Fred nipped her mane and lightly pulled it then ran into the swarm of lightening bugs that began to swarm around them, He looked at her, *I'm leaving tomorrow.* He said, She looked at him in sadness, *what.. why?* she asked, which was a stupid question as she winced at it because she knew why she just didnt want to acknowledge that he was going to have to go away one of these days. *your father is kicking us of the herd to let us have our own life.* Fred said, *who's us?* She asked him, *George and I, George is with Angelina right now telling her whats going on as well.* He told her, tears formed in Hybrids eyes, *I don't want you to go though...* she told him. He sighed and hugged his best friend, *You'll see me every year hopefully, ill be with a bachelor band and who knows maybe picking you out of your dads herd.* he said jokingly even though he knew deep down he meant it. She nuzzled him into a hug and then he said, * It's gonna be alright but we got all night to spend here so .. wanna race?* she laughed and then nodded, * To the watering hole?* she challenged him with her voice breaking a bit as she still held it together. *Your challenge is accepted* he said then busted through the forest running as the swarming fireflies where everywhere, Hyrbid let out a laugh as a single tear ran down her cheek and she let him win.
The next day Cedar took the colts out of the herd territory to fend for themselves. After Fred was kicked out with his brother George, Hybrid began to hang out with Georges herd mate, Angelina, Rishana, the mother of fred and george and Esperanza Hybrids mother. One night, George came back to the herd and Angelina met him, Cedar sensed George's presence and they began to battle. However George lost the battle, Cedar ended George's life. Angelina was distraught. Both her and Hybrid disapproved of what their father had done. That next night, they both planned to leave the herd. All was going well until they came face to face with a mountain lion. Normally a stallion takes care of the predators while the lead mare takes the herd to a safe distance. Unfortunately they were all alone in this case. Angelina began to run and the Mountain lion lunged after her, Hybrid thrust her back legs into the air catching the big cat on the jaw with her rear hooves. The cat gave out a yowl and both mares galloped as fast as they could back to safety. They slowed to a walk as they realized they were lost, Angelina had ran the other way instead of the right way and they were both in such a panic that they had no idea  they were going the wrong way. Angelina began to cry, "this is all my fault." she told hybrid, who looked at her and said, "no its that mountain lions fault, if she wouldnt have wanted to eat us we would have moved on." Hybrid looked around. The stars were shining bright still and they had a few hours before sun rise. "we should find somewhere to..." Hybrid said as something jumped down from the tree and onto Angelina's back sinking its teeth into her neck. "AHH!!!" Angelina screamed, Hybrid reared and then struck at the cat busting its ribs that punctured its lungs and heart all at once, the big cat finally drooped to the forest floor and angelina fell with the big cat. Hybrid looked at her friend, "are you okay?" she asked Angelina, Angelina replied, "i feel like im getting cold." Hybrid looked at the wound on Angelina's neck, "Its deep and your gushing tons of blood...." she said, Angelina looked at her beginning to shiver, "go, ill be okay. Cedar will find me via the scent of the cat, if i survive ill stay. But you should go, go find Fred or a new home." Hybrid didnt want to leave her half - sister's side but she had no choice as a booming voice echoed from the north very close by, "Hybrid!!!.... Angelina!!!" it was Cedar and the two mares, one being Hybrids mother, and the other being Angelina's. "Go! before they find you!" Angelina whispered harshly, a tear shed down hybrid's face as she bolted over the hill. 

Hybrid considered herself lucky that the wind was running the same way she was running, as if cedar would have caught her scent he would have followed her. She traveled for days, crossing the river and going over hills.  Night time fell one day, and It wasnt long before she caught scent of someone familiar, Fred. She knew he was close by, all of a sudden she was surrounded by fireflys, tears formed in her eyes, "Please take me to him." she begged the flickering bugs who just danced in front and around her as she cried, "Where is he?" she asked expecting them to answer. the wind blew her mane back and she looked to the sky. "I just dont understand." she sobbed thinking to herself. Out in the distance she picked up a whinny, it sounded like two stallions fighting, She had hope that filled her heart as she raced toward the sound. Trees passed as she went up a hill, down into a Ravine, up over another hill, and finally to a large open meadow. there was a large herd, two stallions were fighting but the more that she watched she noticed the two stallions were practice fighting. She had reached a bachelor band, she searched the herd for some sign of Fred, it was so weird. She could smell him, but yet he was not there. she hung her head low and turned around. 

The smell was so strong,Hybrid couldnt understand why on earth she could smell him clear as day but yet he was not there. She looked up to watch whre she was going only to bump into someone. She quickly backed up and perked her head up. She was so happy when she realized who it was she had just bumped into, black hooves, Chestnut tail, Liver Chestnut Spot body markings, Pink muzzle with brown speckles, chestnut mane, and then the most familiar part, the golden brown eyes. "FRED!" she screamed excitedly, as she nuzzled him and he nuzzled her back. "Hey Hybrid." she looked at him, "how did you find me. What are you doing here. is that your bachelor band?" He laughed, "whoa easy one question at a time love." he answered then answered her questions, "I seen you walking through the forest in that ravine, and followed you, Im here because i followed you, and yes that is my bachelor band, they are practicing fighting and im not down there because im pretty much the bad boy of the bachelor herd." Hybrid smiled, "Bad boy of the bachelor herd?" she asked, "I can win any fight, Just like my brother i imagine him and angelina are having a wonderful time as their own little herd somewhere." Fred told her, Hybrids face instantly went from happy to sad, "Fred..... both Angelina and Fred are decaased." she told him, feeling that it wasnt right to keep this from him. Freds face welled up with tears, "what? How? he was the best fighter in the band!" Fred cried, Hybrid expleained, "George took on my father, Cedar, and he didnt even succeed even for a little bit, he just wasnt as ready as he thought." Fred sniffled, "how did angelina die?" Hyrbid sniffled, "I dont even know if she is dead, last i left her, she was bleeding horribly from the neck after a cougar, that i had to kill, attacked her." Fred hugged Hybrid, "I'm sorry love." he told her. Hybrid nodded "its okay im sorry about your brother." Fred shrugged and sniffled, "a part of me sort of knew that he was gone." Hybrid hugged him, "Im so sorry, but at least we have eachother now, even though it may never be the same." Fred nodded, "It will be okay, we need to get away from this ridge though before the wind changes and the band catches on that there is a mare nearby." he told her, she nodded in agreement and together they left the ridge and went west of the ravine. 

They traveled for days and nights, until they found the perfect meadow that was filled with fireflies, and a lovely watering hole. They stayed there to call it home. Fred and Hybrid Became the leaders of the New Meadow herd. A month later, Hybrid found out she was expecting a foal. She galloped to tell fred the good news. "Fred!" Hybrid hollered, Fred who was inbetween his tree hill, that over looked the meadow peeked out from the trees, "What is the matter love?" he asked as Hybrid approached, "I have wonderful news," Hybrid said with a pause as Fred's full attention was on her, "We are exepcting darling." she told him, Freds face went from alert to shocked, the Blood drained from his pink muzzle turning it almost white. "could I listen to your belly?" he asked still in shock, Hyrbid giggled, "of course my love." she told him and he bent his neck down toward her belly, to which he could hear three heart beats. "oh no...." He said, Hyrbid looked at him, "What?" she asked, "What is wrong?" she asked beginning to worry that something was wrong with the foal she was carrying, "Love, i'm hearing 3 heart beats." Fred told her, "THREE!? YOU MEAN WE ARE EXPECTING TRIPLETS!?" Hyrbid exclaimed, "No, no love, we are expecting Twins, One heart beat is yours, and the other two are the Twins heart beats." Hybrid had a big ol' grin on her muzzle, "OH lovely!" She nuzzled him and he nuzzled her back. Then she continued grazing. 
Fred looked at Hybrid her tummy was big and round, Hybrid looked up from grazing and smiled, "You doing okay?" Fred asked her, as she was 5 months along. Her moods were always changing like any pregnant beings moods will change, However today everything was calm, Hybrid nodded and nuzzled him, "I'm just fine." she said and Fred smiled, "Good thats how it should be." he told her, As the months went by,They both would listen to the belly to see how many heart beats they could hear, Always it was three, which told them the foals were healthy. Finally the day came and Hybrid went into labor. The first born was a colt that they both named Lucian, he was a liver chestnut Pinta-loosa, with white and flaxen mane and tail, pink muzzle with speckles, and his fathers golden brown eyes. Second born was a filly, red chestnut pintaloosa, with pink muzzle, and her mothers eyes. They named her Coulter, Identical twins of different color.
