Over the days, Spirit had befriended the shy mare and had sat her free along with the other horses. She returned home, but her parents were not there. For the first time in her life her heart broke. Rai traveled far and wide, until a Lakota woman took her in for a few days and nursed her back to health. The woman successfully put feathers in her mane and tail. Rai had then left her friend to continue her search for her parents. While on her travels, Rai met a stallion,Gennadius. He invited her into his herd, but Rauni refused to leave her search. Gennadius had brought her to his herd anyway. Rai then met a stallion who she fallen in love with, therefore finally leaving the herd only to settle down with her mate. She was drawn to her mate when she first saw him and they started to bloom as friends.
