>>>----------> Personality, traits, etc. <----------<<<
Personality: As a colt, Gennadius was curious, bold, and reckless, causing more trouble then not. He would grow restless easily, always finding mischief to delve into. And that's how he found himself captured by the U.S. Calvary as a two-year-old. Still young, he was easily trained and broken. During serving as a sergeants horse, he drifted from his reckless ways, becoming loyal, respectful, and reserved. Despite that sense that he was a Mustang and should be wild, that loyalty never wavered in his five years in the Calvary. But when the sergeant was killed and Gennadius was used to pull the steam locomotive, after Spirit frees him along with other horses, he is forced to put behind his loyalty to humans. Certain events pushed him into the ways of the wild and freedom, and he soon drifted completely from his reserved self, becoming untamed and hard. Afterwards, he only showed even any kindness to a mare—Katrina—he stole from a band of other stallions.
History:
Born in the wild, Gennadius spent a year in a small herd, living and learning, intending to spend his life in that place. But after a reckless mistake, he was captured, and brought into the Calvary. Only two, he was easily broken and trained. Then he caught the eye of a sergeant not long after his capture. For the next five years of his life, Gennadius served as that sergeants steed. Or at least until the attack on the Lakota village when the sergeant was killed. Gennadius chose not to flee, and instead stood loyally next to his fallen rider. Afterwards, riderless, he was used to pull the steam locomotive. When Spirit breaks free from the sledge, and then frees the other horses, Gennadius has no other choice but to flee as well, even if he hadn't known anything but the Calvary for the majority of his life.
During the first days being free once again, Gennadius entered a band of stallions territory, running on instincts upon sensing mares. Obviously unwelcome, Gennadius was attacked by a few of the band stallions. He would have been killed, only he fled, leaving with several wounds.
Once loyal and reserved, Gennadius quickly learned freedom wasn't everything one might think it to be. He soon became adapt to the ways of the wild, and followed them himself.
Days later, he returned to the territory, and stole one of the mares—by the name of Katrina—from the band of stallions, taking her away.
Gennadius and Katrina spent the next two years together, drifting through different territories, crossing paths with herds and other unwelcome foes. But not long after Katrina conceives and delivers a filly, Gennadius is captured once more, this time by wranglers. He is sold off to a rancher, and used as a work horse. After over two years of freedom, Gennadius turned away any loyalty he might have had to humans. Months pass before he finally escaped the ranch. Returning to where he was taken from Katrina, he finds that the mare is gone, taken by another stallion, or perhaps captured, and what became of the filly…that couldn't be determined.
Excepting what clearly happened, Gennadius flees the area, and doesn't return.
For the next years, traveling through areas, Gennadius collected a band of mares, taking them from other stallions, ranchers, and herds. On one particular night, after he clears a fence containing a ranchers band of mares, he finds, out of fate, Katrina. He brings her back to his band of mares, and so it remains that way…
