Born on a calm and warm day, Abenaki was abandoned by his mother Wichita after his birth. He was alone, until Little Creek found the young foal. He brought Abenaki to the Lakota herd. Abenaki met a paint filly, Rain, who he became friends with. As Abenaki got older, he was more of a calm and focused horse when his Lakota rider, Tewa broke him. Abenaki and Tewa grew close when out for rides. He trusted her and she trusted him. Tewa then introduced Abenaki to his father Arapaho. The father and son bonded for the first time. Abenaki asked Arapaho about his mother. Abenaki then set out to find the chestnut mare that he calls mother. Although, Abenaki had faced many struggles. He was always chased by ranchers, due to his rare liver chestnut coat. Abenaki had then met a beautiful mare belonging to the ranchers. He would often try to talk to her about returning to the village with him after he found his mother. After years of searching, Abenaki had given up on the search for his mother. He and his mare stayed with the Lakota to raise their filly, Akama. After that he and Akama left Clover, and now they travel the wilds together.
