Lineage: “The Great Leader” and “The Queen of the West”

Personality: He thinks he’s the wildest horse left in the west, and he might be right. He can be petty reckless and he believes the key to success is taking as many risks as he can to get to the top. He can be cruel and a tad bit deceitful in his tactics. Xepher has a large ego, and takes a great deal of pride in himself and his get. He believes he has been given the “divine right” to rule over the entire west; following in the hoofprints of his father’s massive herd and impressive lineage. He hates human intervention and will go out of his way just to cause chaos for anyone unlucky enough to ride their horses into his territory.  Any stallion who finds themselves unwary may lose a mare or two to him as well.

History:  He was born to “the Great leader” and his lead mare. The Great Leader was an old rival of Strider who was rumored to give the black mustang quite a run for his money back in the day- almost resulting in disbanding of the entire Cimarron herd. Xepher was raised on these stories of victory and soon the young colt inherited his father’s herd, but he had bigger plans still. Large herds were a familial tradition after all.

Xepher challenged the very aged Cedar and took most of his herd in the victory.  Having his hooves full for a while, he then set some geldings free from unwary human cowboys and they served to keep an extra eye on things. This allowed him to add more horses to his herd.

His tactics have always been quite bold- blatantly running off with mares and challenging anyone who dares to stop him. However, this has actually paid off and he’s become a formidable rival to both Spirit and Moskau. He’s taken a few horses from the Cimarron herd, and fought Spirit more than once. Moskau’s herd is a little harder to reach, thus safer from Xepher. However, he did run off with Moskau’s lead mare once, but that was only because Gasolina wanted to be taken for whatever reason. Petrol in Moskau’s herd could very well be his son, but Xepher would probably find him an embarrassment if he ever found out.
