History:

Vulcan was raised on a ranch alongside his mother, and older brother Lüvik. Vulcan’s owner had paid to breed his mother to another horse, so he never knew his father.

His mother, Srikka, was a very powerful horse. Vulcan looked up to her, and his older brother.

However, the people who owned him were anything but friendly. Srikka was used to plow, and breed, and was often abused in the process. However, Vulcan didn’t know this.

Vulcan looked forward to the day he could plow fields with his mother, but every time he mentioned his hopes, his mother snapped at him.

She told him to never wish to be a plowing horse.

Vulcan didn’t understand, but kept quiet. When he was finally of age, he was put to work in the field. He saw the work as nothing but fun, and enjoyed working alongside his mother.

However, one day while he was working with her, his mother was slower than him. She was getting old, and had had many foals. The owners whipped her until she bled, forcing her to keep up the same speed as her son.

Vulcan grew furious, and charged forward, causing the plow to tip and the human to fall. He hoped that this would distract the humans from his mother.

However, Vulcan’s worker was furious, and grabbed the harness holding the horse to the plow. Vulcan was disassembled from the plow and led into a small barn he’d never seen before.

There, he was beat and whipped until he could no longer stand. Pain surged through his body, and he didn’t understand why the humans were so cruel to him.

Vulcan was kept in that stable with no food or water for days until the workers finally brought him out. They pulled harshly on his halter, and spoke meanly. He watched his mother and older brother from where he was. They were in the field.

Vulcan called out to them but his mother hung her head, unsure of how to react, knowing what would happen.

Vulcan was attached to the plow, and led out to the fields again. He didn’t understand why they had him working again, considering he’d had no food or water. They whipped  him until the pulled forward. Halfway through the job, Vulcan felt his legs grow weak, and he faltered. The humans grew livid, and threw things at him until he finally finished the job.

When he was done, Vulcan was tossed out to the pasture where his family was. He collapsed onto the ground, weak and sore. His mother came and laid by him, telling him to stay strong and always do what the people asked.

She warned him that if he didn’t, they would only worsen the pain.

The next day, Vulcan went to work without complaints. He was sore and in pain, but plowed until the humans asked him to stop.

His older brother was put to work longer than him, but didn’t complain.

This continued for years, until one day something awful happened.

Vulcan was out working with his mother and older brother. The three of them were plowing more. Srikka was falling way behind the other two horses.

The humans whipped her, and threw items at her but she couldn’t go any faster. Vulcan cried out to her, but she couldn’t even muster the energy to look up at him.

Vulcan was about to stop when his mother collapsed onto the ground. Irritated, the humans cut the harness off her, and walked away. Vulcan and Lüvik were let free of the harness as well.

Vulcan immediately ran up to his mother, who was breathing hard and shallowly. She glanced up at her sons and smiled.

Vulcan wept, praying that she’d get up and be alright, but Lüvik snapped at him, telling him that praying such foolish things wouldn’t help.

Vulcan cried silently, and the two horses laid by their mother that night. The next day, she was gone. The two horses remained by their mother until the humans came. The humans dragged their mother’s body across the field to a small pit surrounded by rocks. It was very shallow, and smelled awful.

There, the humans covered the dead mare in leaves and twigs, before lighting the remains on fire.

Vulcan cried out, and charged at the humans, however nothing could be done. The humans grabbed him and dragged him back to the pasture where he resided with his brother.

The next day, Vulcan and Lüvik were sent to work again. Lüvik insisted that Vulcan work hard, and not give in to the grief.

A few more months went by when Vulcan was out plowing again. He was falling slightly behind his brother, due to grief and fatigue.

The humans whipped him, but he couldn’t seem to go any faster. His brother yelled at him to work, but he just couldn’t.

Suddenly, Vulcan felt a sharp sting in his back. The humans had taken a knife and stabbed him in the back. Lüvik grew livid, and charged forward so fast the harness snapped off.

He charged the humans, and kicked at them, keeping them away from his brother. The humans quickly untied Vulcan from the harness, and he fell to the ground.

Vulcan got up shakily in time to see his brother fall to the ground, bleeding from multiple stab wounds.

Vulcan cried out in fury, and lashed out at the humans. He kicked and bit them until the humans who owned him weren’t moving anymore.

Vulcan ran over to his brother’s side, but his brother was weak, and losing blood quickly.

Vulcan cried, but his brother shushed him. Lüvik made Vulcan promise that as soon as Lüvik died, he would escape and find some wild horses to live with.

Minutes later, Lüvik passed away.

Vulcan said his final goodbyes, and galloped off into the wild. He spent many days on his own when he stumbled across a village.

An Indian named Little Creek found him, and tried to approach him but Vulcan was scared that the human would be the same as his previous humans. He fled, never returning to the village again.

Vulcan later stumbled across a small herd called the Outclanners. They welcomed him, and didn’t ask questions about his past. He felt welcome here, and remained.

Sorry if I'm joining in a bit late - I just want to say that we should drop the subject before anything gets too out of hand, but I want to thank Paw for stating her concerns and looking out for me. :)
Me and Rena have been discussing about this subject and have come to terms that this is now solved and that there is no need for her to change anything about this character. Thank you.

Rena - I understand your view and thank you for sharing you side of the story.
Also thank you for taking what I said well and again, I am sorry if I sounded too harsh in my previous comment.

That's nice of you to offer to change him, I guess we'll have to see what happens. I only heard from owner of Yasuo and Vulcan (Bambi Source) that she found it a little upsetting and thought it was strange that he came out more or less after she did an RP with you. But anyway, again we'll see what happens.

Sorry if I sounded like I was accusing you, I did not mean to one bit. Thanks again for you answer.

My apologies, I created this character ages ago without realizing that there was already a character named Vulcan on the site, nor realizing that there was a similar looking character already. Also, I understand the scars are similar, but the only reason I included scars on my horse was because he was abused in his past, and it seemed odd if he didn't have something to show from that. If you want me to change anything, or if Babybae finds issues with him, I can always change him. Again, I meant no theft, I understand the legality of creating a character, and I would never steal or copy someone else. I haven't been on this source for many months, almost two years actually, and was not aware of the new characters. However, I will gladly change anything that you see is necessary.

Blakey: I'm quite a frequent source surfer, and so far I've only seen two characters on all the sources called Vulcan - they being Babybae's and Rena's.

I agree with Wolf, Vulcan doesn't look very similar to Yasuo. Probably the same pelt colour but that's probably it. But Rena doesn't need to make changes to this character, the mods would already inform her if this male character was too similar to any character on the sources.

But it's not really "suspicious", using a name for a character that luckily be over used probably on every source and using a screenshot that is from the movie that everyone would use... nothing suspicious about that.

Hi Rena, sorry to say this but I find that Vulcan looks quite alot like Babybae character, Yasuo. Scratches on body, grey pelt, dark grey mane, white spots, greyish pelt, same image...

http://www.animationsource.org/spirit/en/chars/Yasuo/54185.html

Also, Babybae made a character on Bambi Source called Vulcan very recently (before you created this character). I know that you cannot credit name and I do not mean to be rude in anyway, but I found that a little suspicious. If you understand my meaning. Sorry if I sound too harsh.
