History:
Faren grew up on a small farm with a family of three. However, one day that family packed their bags and left, leaving her behind. Faren, still pretty young, got bored and wandered off. She wasn’t aware that the people who had owned her had left her, she just was irritated that she wasn’t getting attention, or fed.
Faren wandered far enough that she soon was lost, and frightened. She wondered hopelessly in the wilderness until she stumbled upon a small group of mares. After explaining her situation, the wise mares defined what happened to her.
Faren was upset that her family had left her, but grew to love the older mares and stuck with them. She traveled with them, and learned new things about the wild, and what it was like to be a part of a herd.
One of her best friends was a gypsy vanner mare named Loreena , and the two of them were inseparable.
One day, the mares stumbled upon a small herd, led by a stallion named Corin. Wanting Loreena and Faren, the youngest members, to have a taste of herd life and protection, they joined his herd.
However, soon afterwards a fire struck the valley they resided in. The horses were trapped.
Luckily, Corin was smart and led the mares out of the fire, making sure to return into the flames to help everyone. Sadly, he passed away in the flames after rescuing the last mare and getting trapped under a burning log.
The mares grieved his death, even if they had only known him for a while. Shortly afterwards Tybalc, Corin’s son, took control of the herd. He ruled opposite of his father, and was very strict and demanding.
Not wanting anything to happen to the younger mares, the original group decided to leave.
However, Tybalc caught them and was livid. Faren, who was the slowest of the group despite her large amount of energy, was chased down by the fierce stallion.
She was terrified, and cowered in front of the large horse. However, her friend Loreena galloped over and landed a strong kick to the angry leader.
Faren escaped with the other mares, and they spent months on their own again.
Eventually, the mares settled with Fiero, a palomino paint who was very kind also. Faren grew to love the stallion, and eventually had his foal.
She fell in love with the life in this herd, and was overwhelmed with joy. However, Loreena approached her one day declaring her leave.
Faren was confused, and unsure why Loreena would leave such a beautiful herd. However, the two of them grew apart when Faren had her foal, and she wasn’t as upset as she should have been.
She tried to persuade Loreena to stay and give it a chance, but the buckskin vanner shook her head, and bid farewell to her.
Faren was upset, but quickly overcame her grief in the herd life’s daily schedule. She enjoys watching Spirit and Fiero fight, and sometimes will butt in and play along. She is great friends with Rain, as the two of them often watch their leaders fight eachother. Rain and she often share maternity advice, and discuss foal troubles.
Faren lives happily with Fiero, and her son, who may one day grow to lead the herd after Fiero’s gone.
(I still need to render her son, so when I do I will include more information on him here.)
