History:
Santiago grew up in the mountains of Colorado, but drifted further west with his parents when he was young. His parents were outcasts, and didn’t belong in a herd, so Santiago never got the taste of a herd life.
When Santiago was older, his mother passed away. This left Santiago alone with his father, who was extremely sad after his mate passed away. His father found a small clearing area where they lived for many months. However, Santiago grew bored of the same little place. Eventually, he left his father, (on good terms) and went to find a herd of his own.
After many weeks of traveling, Santiago found a small herd that he was allowed to join. However, he had a hard time adapting to the rules and regulations of the herd, and ended up leaving them.
Santiago finally decided to go solo, and not bother to listen to anyone else’s rules. He wandered across the lands, seeing new places, and meeting new horses. A couple times he met a mare he had feelings for, but ended up leaving anyways.
When Santiago turned 9, he already had 3 foals with mares across the west. Santiago however, learned when he arrived at the Cimarron valley, that horses weren’t allowed to mate with other herd’s horses. Santiago thought it would be fun to do so anyways, and being such a handsome fellow, had no trouble attracting mares. He had no interest starting a herd of his own, but enjoyed causing chaos for other stallions.
One day, Santiago traveled back to where he last saw his father. On his way, he ran into a herd that lived nearby the clearing his father resided at. Santiago talked with them, and found out that his father had also passed away. Santiago wasn’t terribly upset, considering he left his father a long time ago knowing it may be their last time seeing each other.
Santiago paid his respects to his parents, before returning to the Cimarron valley. There, he heard rumors of a powerful buckskin, who was feared by many. Santiago made it his goal to trouble the stallion, and months later, he did.
Spirit was outraged when one of his mares had a foal that was obviously not his. Spirit hunted down Santiago, and demanded that the two of them fight. Santiago however, played innocent and Spirit let him go, but he was on thin ice.
Amused, Santiago proceeded to capture the hearts of more of Spirit’s horses, which only angered Spirit more. When Spirit confronted the young stallion in the act, he laughed and taunted the older horse.
Spirit, furious, charged him, but Santiago was already a mile away. Santiago laughed in the wind, and ran until the buckskin stopped chasing him.
One mare Santiago is particularly fond with is Lamia. She resides in Spirit's herd, and Santiago usually flirts with her when trying to irritate Sprit, altough he has grown fond of the cute mare.
To this day, Spirit and Santiago remain enemies, although Santiago will never admit it.
