History:
Cylcia grew up with the Apache Indians, and was raised alongside Antinaco, even though she was a little older than him.
Antinaco had many attitude problems, but Cylcia found truth in the young colt’s heart and they became great friends.
However, Antinaco was often picked on, and kicked out of the tribe many times. Each time, Cylcia went after him and convinced him that it would be his best interest to shake it off and return home.
Cylcia enjoyed the horse’s company despite his attitude, and what other horses and humans thought.
When they were older, the two of them trained together to be hunters, or horses used on hunting raids and wrangling jobs.
Antinaco was one of the best natural hunters, and his loyalty proved extreme. However, Cylcia was often distracted by the wilderness they ventured into to hunt. She always wondered what it was like to be free to do as you please. She understood the Apache’s ways were incredibly giving, and the horses were often allowed to wander. Yet she still wished to be able to leave, and not return.
One night, while the humans were sleeping during a hunting trip, a tall buckskin stallion approached their campsite. He was clearly wild, but wanted to talk in a more polite manner. All of the horses woke, including Antinaco.
The horse introduced himself as Spirit, and offered that if any of the horses wanted to leave and become free, they were welcome to join his herd. Cylcia was overjoyed, and thought that finally her chance had come. She agreed to join Spirit’s herd, and walked next to him.
However, Antinaco was furious, and questioned Cylcia’s reasoning and loyalty. Cylcia explained what she was doing, and asked him if he would come too. She thought that maybe becoming free would improve his mind and attitude, granting him happiness.
Antinaco though, refused to leave, and snapped at the buckskin for stealing horses from the Apache, who had done the mustang no harm. Cylcia snapped back, arguing that it was her decision, and Spirit was offering, not demanding.
Eventually, her and one other horse left, and ventured across the wilderness to where Spirit’s herd resided.
She’s been with Spirit ever since, and enjoys every minute of it. However, she often thinks about Anitinaco, and wonders how he’s getting along. She hopes to one day visit him, and try to convince him to finally leave with her.
